“I’m just fucking around.” I drop my hand, laughing. “I have no idea what time it is.”

“I wonder if Annalise is still around.”

Her name coming out of Roz’s mouth makes me dizzy, like being in the salad spinner all over again, and I threaten to kick him overboard, like literally, with both feet.

“So that’s what that kiss was all about.” The twinkle in his eye is brighter than the stars over our heads. “I knew it. You were jealous.”

My scoff is a little too loud, even to my own ears.

“She was nice…” he says, leaving it open-ended. She was nice…but? But what?

I roll my eyes, knowing he’s watching my every expression. “She had a nice body, I’ll give you that. Pretty face, tight ass, great rack.”

“Maybe I got it wrong then. Maybe you wanted Annalise for yourself.”

I shake my head so fast I give myself momentary vertigo.

“Stop saying her name. It sounds…” I say, leaving it open-ended, too. Read between those lines, Roz.

In one quick motion, he’s on top of me, the bags of gummy worms and chips scattering out over the blankets we’re on. The entire thing—the swift movement, the additional weight, the lost snacks—has me chuckling deep in my chest as I try to push him off with no luck whatsoever. There’s just a lot of sloshing, kind of like being on a water bed, with a few crunches from the chips somehow making their way under my body.

“Wanna share her instead?”

We both stop moving, everything coming to a halt.

I try to keep my voice as unaffected as possible, telling him, “Nah, I’m good.”

“Have you ever?”

“Had a threesome?”

He nods.

“Have you?”

“You love a question for a question, huh?” He glances at my lips, saying, “Yes, I have,” before meeting my eyes again, the pupils in his much larger now. “Two guys, one girl.”

“Lucky girl.”

“You?”

“Once. Two girls, one guy.”

“Lucky guy.”

A moment of silence follows, then Roz changes his tune, saying, “I hate him,” and I smirk, drawing his attention south again.

“Never mind. I don’t think I could.”

“Don’t think you could what?”

“Share you.”

Our eyes connect, and there’s a raw honesty in his that he should probably be hiding a little better.

What do mine look like right now?

“Today you showed up in the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen—”
