She murmurs into her phone as I sit at my dressing table and stare at my reflection. Despite the obvious wound on my neck, I have never looked so alive. My skin is flushed, my eyes bright and my hair! God, that really could use a comb. It’s as if I was attacked by a pack of coyotes on the way in and yet I wouldn’t change a thing.
I was with Angel, again and pushing aside my guilt for Jason, I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Somehow, Honey has worked a miracle and definitely earned her reputation for being one of the best theatrical makeup artists in Hollywood.
The mark is almost unidentifiable and as I sit in wardrobe for most of the day, I go over my lines with Brandy as I’m measured, prodded and poked by the wardrobe team.
Despite the circus that comes with shooting movies, I am happiest when I’m acting. Saying my lines opposite my costars and becoming somebody else entirely.
This movie is another rom com where my character has a one-night stand with a hot guy before walking into her new job as a high-powered executive, only to find out she slept with the CEO last night.
My leading man is another hot property in Hollywood right now. Mason Kilmarno. Luckily, he is in a high-profile relationship with a well-known singer and has zero interest in me outside of the movie. He’s a nice guy and we get along already, so I’m confident this movie will be a pleasure.
Giovanni’s ghost still haunts me, and I never want to be in a similar position. Social media had a lot to do with creating a fake relationship to sell the movie and I will never allow that to happen again.
My ‘relationship’ with Jason Prince is perfect because he is not in this industry and is powerful enough for it not to affect him.
When the day is done and I have somehow managed to focus on work instead of my love life, I head toward the exit with a hammering heart. How can I face Jason after what I’ve done?
CHAPTER 28
ANGEL
I’m my own worst enemy.
I tested Sophie, and she failed. What did I expect?
This is one fucked up situation, and it’s all of my own making. Gabriel was right. Nothing good will come from this.
I meet my brothers at the crypt; The Wild Angels are occupying a lot of my time right now.
Titan is the first to speak.
“We’ve located Sally. She is currently holed up in a cheap motel with Charlie.”
“And?”
I roll my eyes because knowing Charlie, he is probably taking full advantage of the situation.
Titan grins. “For interrogation. He ID her and she didn’t take much persuasion before jumping on the back of his bike. He took her to the same motel Giovanni used, and they are currently in room forty.”
“I bet Buddy and Jack are watching every exit right now.”
Ghost chuckles.
“They would if their feed was accurate. I tapped in and altered the picture to suit our agenda. So, unless they were physically outside and saw it happen in real time, they are seeing shit.”
“Let’s go.”
We stand, wasting no time because talking to Sally is high up on our must do list.
We ride into town as a pack. We always do. Not many pay us attention. We are a familiar sight, and our disguises are not uncommon for an MC club. The notoriety gives us space. Nobody wants an altercation with us for sure.
Even the cops maintain their distance. We have helped them too many times for them to interfere with what we do. We have cleaned up the streets. That is our job so why would they mess with that?
It doesn’t take us long to reach the motel and as we park out the back, we head toward room forty.
