My tone is husky and she groans. “Well, if you change your mind, I’ll even do you for free.”
Zac rolls his eyes, and I hide my smirk under my mask and lean against the wall.
“Anyone know any info on the guy who left the motel dressed as one of us the night Giovanni Corloni was murdered?”
“I figured you’d be interested in that.”
The woman smiles. “I’m Bridget, by the way, and this is Fiona.”
She sighs. “Such a waste. He was a god and I would know. We spent many pleasurable evenings together; he was very generous in every way.”
“So, the motel was a habit. He used it a lot.”
“He sure did. Most of the girls working here had the pleasure at some point. In fact, on the night it was Cindy’s turn.”
“Is she here?”
“No.” Fiona speaks up. “She’s visiting her mom downtown. She takes her shopping once a week, she dotes on her.”
“What about Jack? Word is he saw something.”
“You’ll find him somewhere around here. He’s always doing something.”
Bridget moves and her gown falls open, and she makes no attempt to cover herself up.
“The guy who murdered Giovanni was one of yours.”
“An imposter.” Titan growls. “He was no angel.”
“Clever guy then.”
Fiona bites her finger nails.
“You could check the cameras. Buddy has them rigged up around the place, inside it and across the street. He’s been hit so many times; word is he’s struggling for insurance. He takes no chances. Perhaps he can help.”
“Where is he?”
“Interviewing.”
They roll their eyes and Fiona groans.
“Some poor unsuspecting wannabe actress swung by here earlier looking for a job. He likes to train them personally, if you know what I’m saying.”
“His office?”
I step forward.
“Two doors down the hall to the right.”
Fiona laughs. “Man, I’d love to see his face when you burst in. He’ll shit his pants.”
“Probably not wearing any.” Bridget chuckles and I say with amusement, “Thanks, ladies.”
I drop a couple of hundreds each in their laps and they whistle. “Man, what would you pay for sex? Call us if you want to pump us for more information.”
We make a hasty retreat and, as the door closes, Zac groans. “As Titan so rightly said, fuck this shit.”
I chuckle to myself as we head to the manager’s office, noting the brass plaque on the door.
