I shift to face her. My arm dragged over the backrest of the couch, and she shifts a little closer. “I want to start again and wipe the slate clean. Forget I asked you for the favor, forget we were ever on that yacht and forget my infatuation with a stranger.”
“I see.”
I hold her gaze, loving how her eyes sparkle with desire despite what happened on the other yacht.
“I’m pleased to meet you, Sophie.” I extend my hand. “My name is Jason Prince, and you are a welcome guest on my new boat.”
She chuckles softly.
“I’m pleased to meet you, Jason. I am honored to be your guest on this amazing boat. But there is a problem with my sleeping accommodation.”
“A problem?” I raise my eyes. “I’m devastated to hear that.”
She shifts even closer within the circle of my arm and leans forward.
“It turns out I would prefer to share and so, Jason Prince, stranger, keeper of my honor, will you grant me one wish?”
“Only one?”
“Yes.” She leans forward. “Will you share my cabin with me tonight? You see, I learned a valuable lesson.”
“I’m interested in hearing what that is.”
Her lips brush against mine.
“That life can be fleeting, and you should seize every moment of it. Have no regrets and waiting is for fools.”
“It’s a good lesson and I would be honored to share your cabin tonight.”
I wrap my hand around the back of her head and crush my lips to hers. Our tongues clash, our chests meet and I kiss Sophie like never before. I want her so badly, this so badly and it’s as if we have finally arrived after a very lengthy journey.
A discreet cough interrupts the moment and as we pull away, Gosia smiles apologetically.
“I’m so sorry. I just came to say thank you.”
Sophie smiles and points at one of the chairs.
“Please join us. We have a lot to talk about.”
As we settle down and Marcus serves coffee, more whiskey and pastries, I offer reassurances and then leave the women to chat. Confident that all I need to do now is clean up the final remnants of a job well done.
CHAPTER 43
SOPHIE
I’m exhausted. Gosia went to bed and Jason offered me his hand. As we walk toward the master stateroom, I am unusually nervous.
I kind of threw myself at him back there and now it’s the moment of truth.
When I close my eyes, who will I see behind them? Jason or Angel.
We are both silent as we enter the room, two robed figures who should be dead on their feet but are somehow still walking.
He turns to me and I drown in the desire firing back at me. My legs are weak; my heart flutters and my entire body is wired and ready for release.
He says nothing and merely moves closer. My heart flutters when he reaches up and wraps his hand around the back of my head and his lips touch mine. My heart lifts and I return the favor and sink my fingers into his hair and pull him in deeper.
His mouth opens, mine does the same, and our tongues reach in and introduce themselves. It’s leisurely, unhurried and hot, so damn hot my toes curl. My hair falls over his fingers. I kiss him hard, a small moan revealing how turned on I am.
