Bonnie rolled her eyes. “Coincidence, huh?”

“Absolutely.”

“I don’t remember telling you what salon I worked at.”

“You told me it was above the Rusty Elbow.”

“Oh yeah, I did.”

“And luckily, they told me you have time available. I’d say it’s kismet, wouldn’t you?”

“Uhm.”

Shit, now I’m sounding like Lachlan.

“Bonnie, are you going to take him back to your station, or should I assign another stylist?” The woman behind the front desk asked.

God, Lorelei stomped on her last nerve. She was constantly trying to cause rifts between the stylists, and Bonnie was pretty sure that she purposely gave some of the higher paying clients to the stylists she liked best, but she hadn’t been able to prove it.

Jase stepped up to the counter. “Bonnie and I are old friends. I only want to have my hair cut by her. Can you write that down, honey?”

“I’ll need your last name to enter it into the system, and I’ll also need your phone number,” Lorelei bit out.

“No, you’ll just need my name,” Jase corrected her. “Jase Drakos.” He spelled out his name, and Bonnie tried not to giggle as Lorelei gritted her teeth.

Fuck, there was just too much to like about this guy. He even caught onto petty girl shit and shut it down.

“Why don’t you follow me?” Bonnie suggested with a smile.

“I would love to.”

For the very first time, she wished she was wearing high heels so there would be a little more sway in her walk. Oh well, it was what it was.

Jase started to sit down in her chair.

“Hold on,” Bonnie said as she bent down to pull out a cape from the cupboard beside her station. She unfolded it and gave it a good snap so that it opened and she could wrap it around him. As soon as she had it ready, she realized she had a problem.

A big problem.

A six-foot-five-inch problem.

“Jase, can I get you to crouch down a little so I can wrap this around you?”

He looked over his shoulder and smirked. “How about I just put this on myself?”

It was the smirk that did it.

“How about you just do as I asked?” she retorted in her PTA voice.

“Touchy little thing, aren’t you?” He grinned as he crouched low enough so she could pull the wrap around him and fasten it in the back. He stood back up.

“Now what, boss?”

“Now you sit down and tell me what you’re hoping to accomplish with your haircut today.”

“I’m hoping that the haircut lasts long enough to talk you into having dinner with me tomorrow night.”

“Bonnie, that’s a fantastic line,” Shannon interrupted. “You should definitely let him take you out to dinner.”
