“Who says I was looking for Sebastian?” she asked, trying to look innocent.

“Gianna, I really like you, girl. I would hate to think that look of expectation on your face was for any of the other men in this house.”

Gianna giggled. “You have a point.”

“So, are you taking off to go somewhere?”

“I’m leaving for a couple of days to check out a couple of artist studios, and I’ll also do some sketching. I should be back before the week is out.”

Ophelia stepped up to her and rested her hands on her shoulders. “In my day, young women did not go gallivanting all around the country by themselves without someone looking out for them. I don’t like the idea of you being out there by yourself, Gianna.”

Gianna giggled up at her. “Uhm, weren’t you the one who told me that your aunt was a hippie and part of the flower generation and went to Woodstock?”

They both looked over as the kitchen door swung open. Gianna was able to mask her disappointment when it was Neil who walked through the door. “What’s this about Woodstock?” he asked.

“Your wife was trying to make me think that twenty years ago was the nineteen forties, but she forgot she’d told me about her aunt attending Woodstock.”

Neil came up behind his wife and put his arms around her and nuzzled her neck. “She’s got you there, honey.” Then his eyes narrowed as he looked at Gianna. “But what’s going on with you? Is there something we should be concerned about?”

Gianna felt her heart melt. Neil and Ophelia were such good people.

“Nope, just going to do a little bit of traveling, checking out some of the local artisans and see if I can talk some of them to sell some things in my cousin’s shop back in Kentucky. I’ll also do some sketching.”

“You check in with us every evening, you hear?” he said.

“I will.”

Gianna gave them both hugs before heading out to her car.

It was time to do some sleuthing.
