Nathaniel nodded slowly. “Very well. It’s not compulsory."
Her shoulders relaxed. “Thank you.”
“But without the plug, there is no deal.”
“What?”
“That is my condition. I want you to wear it for the rest of tonight like a good little slut, and at any other time that I wish. It may take several days for me to secure a meeting with Gloria. Until then, I expect you to obey me. Do you understand?”
“Yeah, I understand,” Kira said, her fists curling. “You’re out of your fucking mind. You are not coming anywhere near my…” she licked her lips, searching for the right word, “my rear end.”
Nathaniel laughed softly. “That’s your prerogative.”
She couldn’t believe it. After all the concessions she had made…he wanted her to wear that? It was worse than the gag and collar. She knew he had dark desires, but she hadn’t expected him to want to put an object inside her ass. It didn’t seem right. Or sanitary. Her rear hole was an intimate part of her that even she hadn’t touched, not like that, nor did she want to. It was outlandish.
She turned to leave, but Nathaniel’s thundering voice made her freeze.
“Think carefully before leaving my room, Kira. The terms may not be so favourable tomorrow.”
“Oh yeah? Well, I hope you find these terms favourable,” she said, facing back and raising both hands to give him the most aggressive middle fingers she could muster. “Do you understand?”
Nathaniel’s eyes glinted as he shook his head with a laugh. “Perfectly.”
Chapter 29
Waiting for Her
Nathaniel
Whilst Nathaniel’s hopes weren’t high, he allowed himself to hope, just a little, that Kira would accept his terms. That in a few minutes, her ass would be filled with the bulging steel plug. He wanted to see her face when he inserted it, wanted to comfort her through the pain, and revel in her pleasure. And he wanted to see the pink-coloured jewel sparkle so brightly between her ass cheeks that it blinded him.
But he was getting ahead of himself, because even though submitting had been Kira’s idea, she seemed unable to swallow her pride. It was a quality that fascinated him, and he was curious how far he could bend her before she broke.
“You’re out of your fucking mind,” Kira said. “You are not coming anywhere near my…my rear end."
Yes, I am out of my fucking mind, he wanted to reply. I’m out of my fucking mind waiting for you. I am in pain when you are far, and in pain when you are near and I cannot touch you. I need you close, and I need you forever. Most of all, I need you alive.
But he couldn’t tell Kira that. She would not understand. He could not say one word without the rest spilling out as well, so he did not speak them at all. Instead, he forced himself to laugh as if her protest amused him.
Kira scowled and left, slamming the door behind her.
He was alone, his bedroom quiet except for the soothing whispers of the low-burning fire. He crouched on the hearth and added two logs. The fireplace was magical and did not produce smoke, but it hungered for firewood all the same.
The flames leapt up to consume the logs, dancing and swirling, reminding him of the wildness of Kira’s hair. She had worn it tied up tonight, but even that hairstyle had an unruliness to it. The updo, he’d noticed, had emphasised the graceful length of her neck.
He dusted his hands and swept the stringy wood bark from the hearth before settling into his armchair.
The hours ticked by as he waited for Kira’s return. He knew she’d be back. Her pride was a temporary thing—her ambition was not.
He stifled several yawns as he waited. The jewellery box sat with the lid open on his desk, the plug returned safely to its bed of glossy satin. The steel gleamed, and the pink gem caught the glow of the fire and scattered rosy pink light around the room.
He’d packed away the ring. The ruby ring had special significance. It had belonged to Queen Liddia, the Vampire Queen—the woman his father had murdered in his quest for power. To present Gloria with the ring was fitting. She was to be his wife and future queen, after all.
Moreover, Gloria’s mother was Queen Liddia, and her father Vampire King Dmitri, both now deceased. It was a fact many vampires knew but none dared speak of. It meant Gloria was a princess, the true heir to the throne.
And he, Crown Prince Nathaniel, was an imposter.
It was no wonder Gloria hated him. Years ago, when his father had given him the ring, Nathaniel had been confident that the return of her mother’s ring would compel Gloria to accept his proposal. But the sight of her mother’s ring had enraged her, severing any affection she may have felt for him.
