“Okay,” she says. “I will serve you food, mister, if you can tell me something.”

My eyebrow raises. “Tell you what?”

Elsa’s finger traces down over my chest. “Tell me about your tattoos. You have so many. I want to find out about what they all mean.”

“I’ve got too many to count.”

“Start with this one,” she says, landing her finger on a compass tattoo on my right upper arm. “A compass.”

“Very observant,” I remark sarcastically.

“Okay, okay. Just tell me why you have a compass tattoo, Caspian.”

“It’s to remind me to always head in the right direction.”

“Cute,” she says before her finger moves to the lion on my right upper arm. “And this wild animal?”

“Lions know when to use their power and when not to,” I reply. Elsa nods.

“And this?”

It’s a quote. It’s time that you won. Written across my left tricep.

“It’s lyrics from a song in a movie I once saw.”

“I like it,” she says. “And this name? Who is she?”

She’s pointing at Sarah. On the back of my hand.

“My mother. So I can always remember her.”

Elsa nods again, understanding the significance to me.

“And this? I’m always so curious about this one. What does that R stand for?”

She’s pointing to the giant R lightning bolt tattoo over my heart. The same tattoo that all members of Ravaged share. The one remaining thing I have left to remind me of the band.

“That’s not important.”

“Ah, so it’s a secret then?”

“Something I would just rather forget.”

“Oh, okay. Well, keep your secrets, Caspian. You’re a man full of mystery.”

“I just don’t like to shout things from the rooftops.”

“I like your tattoos, though,” she says earnestly. “It’s like your past and your values scribbled over you. There for all eternity…”

“Thank you,” I reply. “But where’s this lasagna I keep hearing about?”

Elsa snorts.

“Before I serve you any food, mister, I need to have a shower.”

Elsa pulls herself off me and slides out of bed. I admire her naked ass as she does so. She spots me watching and gives me a scrunched-up face in return.

“So I have to wait for you?” I ask her teasingly. “What do you expect me to do in that time?”
