All I care about is Bishop. How that man just waltzed in here and simply talked the room into giving me a second chance. He risked his reputation for me.

Sure, I was angry at him at first for barging in like that all suddenly, but then I listened to what he had to say.

He apologized to me.

For everything he did. For the past.

And he’s saved my future.

“So, you’re going to take him up on his offer?” Bishop asks me. “You’d be crazy not to. It’ll change your entire life.”

I take a seat on one of the boardroom chairs. I need this all to sink in.

“I’ll have to have a think about it,” I say. “There’s a lot to ponder.”

“You’ve just been offered one of the most amazing record deals by the biggest producer in the world and you’re going to think about it?” Bishop is incredulous. He stares at me all googly-eyed.

“There’s a lot to take in. Like you said, it will change my life. Am I ready for that?”

“You’re crazy, Chloe.”

“Maybe I am.”

“Remember, you’ve always got me,” he says. “I can help you through this. We can do this together. I’ll be there every step of the way.”

“Thanks.”

“Well, you’ve got a few days to do your thinking,” he says.

I smile. “Yeah?”

“I can help you go over things if you’ll like,” Bishop tells me.

“Well, how about you come to mine and we can talk things over?”

We’re in Bishop’s car, driving back to my place from Mickey Miller’s office, when I finally acknowledge what the rockstar just did for me in there.

“Thanks for that,” I whisper, keeping my eyes on the road. “Thank you for apologizing. Thank you for getting me back in front of those guys to perform.”

Bishop puts his hand gently on my knee. “It was all you,” he replies. “I just gave you the push you needed. The rest was you, just as I thought it would be.”

And, sitting there in his car, I believe him.

He apologized to me. That’s it. All over.

Like Axel tried to tell me, the past is the past. I’m finally ready to forgive and forget.

What Bishop has shown me today is that he’s still in love with me. That I am his world.

He’s shown me he’s changed.

He’s my man.
