Me? Lost to the why of her hostility toward me, I shook my head. “Nah, but my extra five will be well spent or not at all. I don’t do drunk pussy.” And we need to fucking talk.
Ivy’s eyes closed with a shame I regretted causing, only to quickly recover. Ivy stared me down. “Let’s see if you can stay awake.” I knew she wanted to say ‘this time’ but didn’t seem to want her pops to know this wasn’t our first encounter.
As they both entered the bar, I stood in the alley wondering if I was being set up. I watched my back as I walked to my El Camino. It was nuts to still go to the hotel, but I’d never been accused of being sane. Messy with my kills, maybe, but never sane. I liked blood. I liked the kill. I craved the challenge and enjoyed the final outcome: another bastard gone.
Sitting at a red light, I could still smell Ivy on me. I’m not sure if it should’ve made me hard like it did, since now I was to believe she was a hooker, but it did. She had pulled out a condom like it was so common. And I had denied it. All I could do was hope she let me because she knew she was clean. I was sure I didn’t give her any STDs. I’d always been really careful with my dick. Not that I bedded many anyways. My size and overall rugged appearance were a hindrance, plus I was usually a bit occupied slitting throats.
After renting a room for the night at the hotel Ivy had spoken of, I unloaded my vehicle. Hidden weapons were a must when you might be the one being hunted for a change. Ivy was simply alluring enough that I was willing to take the chance. Hiding the last knife under the mattress, I heard a motorcycle rumble as it approached the hotel. Since arrangements hadn’t been discussed in detail, I had hung a towel on the doorknob beforehand so she would know what room I was in.
Knock, knock, knock.
Not daring to get close to the door, in case it was an ambush, I stayed near the hidden weapon and out of range. “Come in.”
Timidly, Ivy entered. No one was with her.
My brows pinched when I heard a bike ride off. “They’re leaving you?”
She closed the door behind her. “A car will return for me in the morning.”
“But as far as they know, I’m a complete stranger.”
She pressed her back and palms to the shut door. After a long pause, she sighed. “Not all dads love their little girls.”
“Is there any love at all?”
“Love for money.” She gestured to my chest. “No shirt?”
“Someone asked me to rip it off.”
“If you didn’t go home to get another, you must not live nearby.”
My spine stiffened. “Why are you so interested in where I live?”
“I have my reasons.”
“Ivy, it’s not wise to fuck with me.” I pulled out the knife from the back of my jeans. Her eyes widened. I shrugged. “This a setup?”
Her tiny face scrunched. “A what? Why would I be setting you up?”
Frustrated, I growled out, “Why am I here?”
Ivy started walking toward me, observingly. “You know how to hold that knife.”
I didn’t answer. My silent ways were fighting for control. Ivy was getting more words out of me than anyone I knew or trusted.
“So, you don’t carry for show.”
“Get to your point, Ivy.”
After studying my trained grip, she stopped in the middle of the room, then started peering around. “How many are hidden?”
I smirked.
As if suddenly experiencing fatigue, she sat on one of the queen beds. “Champ, who are you?”
I was over her questions. “No one you will ever get close enough to know.”
Her shoulders sagged. “Are you, at least, a good person?”
