"Sage, how are you feeling?" Grier asked. Although Sage wanted to get straight to the point of the phone call, he also didn't want to be rude to his boss.

"I'm doing well, thank you. Pretty much back to my old self,” he replied and it was true. With the help of Mia, he hadn't had to deal with any traumatic dreams like he had in the past.

"That's fantastic to hear!" Grier said, clearly thinking the call was just for a casual conversation. Sage knew that was about to change pretty soon though.

"So the reason I called was…" he started to say but got interrupted by Grier’s voice.

"Sounds like there’s a problem."

"There might be a slight problem,” Sage replied.

“Well, what is it?" Grier demanded.

"I've noticed a car parked outside the driveway recently,” Sage replied.

A moment of silence.

"How many times have you seen it?" It was no longer Grier’s voice. Instead, it was Fiona’s. Clearly, Grier had put the call on loudspeaker so they could all chat together.

“Oh, hi, Fiona. Um, I'd say three days, maybe four,” he replied. He wasn't sure who it could be but he knew whoever it was, they were there for a reason.

"This doesn't sound good,” Fiona said. Sage agreed.

"What should I do?" he asked. He already knew what he had to do but before he did anything he wanted to make sure they were all on the same page.

"Firstly stay indoors for a while, at least until we have some information as to what could be going on and secondly see if you can get any details on the car and send it our way. That would help,” Grier said as he took over the conversation from Fiona.

Sage hoped they wouldn't have to stay indoors for too long. He hadn't realized how much he had missed riding until he had started his bike just moments ago.

"No problem, I'll do that. I'll have a look as soon as possible,” he replied.

“Perfect. Sage, we know you've got it covered until we have definite answers, but stay out of trouble, won't you?" Grier said with a slight chuckle. Sage smiled. He would gladly follow those orders.

“Absolutely, Grier!" he said.

“Perfect. Contact us when you have information!" Grier said before hanging up the phone. Sage would happily go up to the car and beat whoever was it to a pulp but he knew better. Instead, he reversed back into the driveway and closed the gate again. He would have to tell Mia about the car and make a plan from there.

He placed the bike back into the garage before he headed back into the house. He was grateful to find Mia sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast. It meant he wouldn't have to knock on the locked door again.

Mia looked at him with a surprised expression. She clearly hadn't expected him to be back so soon. After all, he had only been a few minutes.

"I thought I heard you pull out of the driveway?" she asked, the question not really directed at him but to herself.

"I was pulling out of the driveway until I noticed a strange car just outside the gate. I've seen it there for a while and after speaking to Fiona and Grier about it, they think it's best that we stay inside until we know what we're dealing with,” Sage replied as he joined her at the kitchen table. He could see concern cross her face as she took the information in.

"Who do you think it could be?" she asked. Sage had a few ideas but wasn't exactly sure.

“If I had to guess, I would say either we have an Omens problem again or it's law enforcement,” he stated. He didn't want to scare her but he had learned that she was tougher than she looked and a lot tougher than he had thought when he had met her.

"This isn't good at all,” Mia said as she shook her head. If it were the Omens, Sage knew they could take care of it like they had in the past but if it was law enforcement, there wasn't much they could do.

"We're a bit screwed if it's law enforcement,” Mia said as if she was reading his mind.

"Yes, unfortunately. But we don't know who they are so there's no point in getting worried just yet,” he said as he reached for one of the hands that she had placed on either side of her plate, forgetting her half-eaten breakfast.

"Yes, you're right. Let's not worry just yet,” she smiled at him and although he could tell she was keeping her cool he could sense a lot of thoughts going through her head.

"We'll face whatever comes our way, together."
