“I wanted to let you know tomorrow’s extra practice session is off. I’ll text the team. Spread the word and make sure everyone knows.”
“That’s great—I think,” he says cautiously.
I almost smile. “The team deserves one day off. Don’t let it go to your head.”
“No, sir.”
I don’t tell him I’m giving the team the day off because I want to spend some time with Kali.
* * *
I findKali at the end of the dance, taking down decorations, and I help move tables and chairs, and with sweeping the floor.
“You’re a beast when you want to get something done, Nash,” Nikki says. I give her the finger and return the broom to the janitor’s closet, where Kali is unloading a bag of trash.
“Hey, it’s time to get out of here before they have us waxing the floors.”
She laughs. “You’re right. I’m all sweaty and ruining my favorite sweater.”
“You know you look like a hundred on a scale from one to ten, right?”
She rolls her eyes, and I take her hand as she closes the door. I lead her to the nearest exit.
“Don’t we want to say goodbye to—”
“No.” I grin. “Not even a little. Not when I’m looking forward to spending time alone with you.”
“You are?” There’s some alarm mixed in with her surprise as I hurry her down the walk to the street. There’s some traffic tonight because of the dance and people out and about.
“Shit. What do you think the chances are of no one noticing us?”
“Zero,” she says. “Why does it matter? We’re only walking back to the inn together—where we both live. Everyone knows we both live there, right?”
I nod. “Do you suppose we’re the subject of small-town gossip?”
“Don’t say it like it excites you, Nash Lewis.” She chuckles, shaking her head.
“What if it does excite me?” I crowd her, pulling her close as we walk, shielding her from view as much as possible because no matter how exciting or harmless it is, I don’t want any negative gossip about Kali.
“Then,” she whispers and pauses, her eyes sending me the kind of message that makes my dick jump, “you wouldn’t be alone.”
Her words are like a slapshot to my puck, which doesn’t need much encouragement at this point. As soon as we reach the inn, I sweep her inside and up the stairs, the silent darkness of the house upping my anticipation, moving us forward without further conversation.
We go inside my room, and I shut the door behind her, then trap her against it, leaning in and breathing heavily for a guy in shape. But it’s not the swift climb up the stairs that has me panting, and I bet it’s not the reason her breasts are heaving, either.
“If you’re going to kiss me, Nash, I want everything you have.”
“You sure you can handle it?”
“I’m sure that I want you. Here. And now.” She wraps her arms around my neck and presses her hot lips to mine. The sweet taste shocks my already hyper-alert system.
My mind disappears like her words are magic like her body against mine is some kind of magic wand—or at least my stiff dick resembles a magic wand right now, growing bigger and harder by the second.
Wasting no words or time as I get lost in her mouth, I lift her, my hands under her perfect ass cheeks—exactly where they’ve dreamed of being—and her skirt rides all the way up as her legs wrap around me. I carry her to my bed. We fall into it together, grunting and laughing, tangling our tongues and nibbling each other’s lips.
“We need to get these clothes off you.” I make good on my promise, pulling her sweater off first with only a minor interruption of my feast of her mouth. But as I toss the soft sweater aside and look down at her, I stop. Emotions tighten my chest because she’s staring back at me with those sweet, sassy, and over-the-top sexy green eyes. The creamy rise of her breasts cupped in a low-cut lacy fuck-me bra has me gritting my teeth to hold back biting into her, ravishing her like she was mine.
“You know if I get started, there’s no turning back,” I whisper. “You know I’m a no-holds-barred—”
