“I’ll call you later tonight?”

“I’ll be waiting. Congratulations on graduating, Lotts! You made it!” I giggle.

“Congratulations to you too, Mr. D1 Hockey Star. Remember me when you’re famous.”

“As if I could ever forget you.”

I get up off the floor, dust myself off, and head out of the stalls to find my parents. Judging by my tear-stained face, they’ll know what I was doing in there. Luckily, Mom managed to get some photos pre-panic attack for her photo album. Dad wraps his arm around my shoulders.

“Come on, kiddo, let’s get out of here.” My parents know me well enough to understand I just want to hide out in my room,

We head home and, once inside, I notice a box on the table with my name on it. I rush to open it and find a beautiful teddy bear wearing a navy-blue sweater with an H on it, just like the one from Harry Potter. I instantly know who it’s from.

Rushing upstairs, still in my cap and gown, I snap a selfie of me with the bear on my bed and send it to Jake.

“Jake!” I shout out to him, and he comes running into the room.

“What? What is it?” he sounds winded, he really needs to work on his fitness if that’s the case.

I hold the bear and photo in front of me.

“I remember.”

Chapter 51

Jake

The Ascend Amphitheater is a hive of activity when we arrive. There are people everywhere, beer bottles in hand, swaying to the music blasting from the speakers.

My cowboy hat is pulled down low as we make our way into the VIP area. There’s less chance of being noticed here, and it’s a lot less crowded, which will make Lottie far more comfortable.

Speaking of Lottie, she’s a vision in her cowboy boots, denim Levi shorts, white tank top that hugs those perky breasts perfectly, and a cowboy hat perched on her head. Blonde loose waves frame her face, and I can’t stop staring—it’s like I’ve been hypnotized. I’m in a trance and have to shake myself out of it.

Once we’ve found our space, we clink our beer bottles together and just take in the atmosphere. It’s hotter than the sun here, and I can feel the sweat already starting to trickle down my back. Lottie takes her hat off to fan her face, but it’s no good. We’re about to roast to death in this sweatbox.

Looking around at the crowds forming, Lottie turns to me, “Wow, it sure is getting busy, isn’t it?”

“That’s why we’re VIP, baby, I know how you feel about crowds. But I also know how desperately you want to see Riley in action.” Kissing her temple, I wrap my arm around her shoulder and bring her closer, inhaling her peachy scent.

We spent the morning cuddled up in bed, enjoying room service again for breakfast before we went to look for something to wear tonight. Lottie was determined to fit in as a cowgirl, and who was I to say no? Those tight jean shorts sit high on her thighs, hugging that tight pussy. Fuck, I need to stop thinking about Lottie’s pussy before I get myself in trouble.

Luckily, I’m saved from my wandering thoughts by one of the opening acts. A guy comes to the mic and introduces himself as Jaxon James before taking a seat on the stool in front of the mic.

“I hope you’re all ready for an amazing show. If it’s ok with you, we’re going to hang for a bit while we wait for my guy, Riley, to come out and perform for y’all.”

The crowd cheers and I can tell it’s mostly female. I’m not ashamed to admit this guy is a handsome dude, even Lottie has stars in her eyes.

I wrap my arms tighter around her, reminding her I’m still here. She reaches up and shouts to me, “Don’t worry, superstar, you’re still the only one I want.” A smile creeps up her face and her cheeks pinken.

God, she’s so damn adorable.

“This next song is about the one who got away. If you have someone in your heart, fight to keep them there. Don’t regret it like I do.” The strumming of his guitar starts, and I feel Lottie’s head fall back onto my shoulder.

Swaying back and forth, I promise her, “I’ll never let you go, Lottie. Never. People like you and me? We’re forever.”

Her eyes are closed, but there’s a smile blooming on her face at my words. Even though she doesn’t say it back, I feel her love for me radiating through her body, and I’ll wait a lifetime to have her say it to me.

The sun has gone down and it’s time for the main event. Lottie is keyed up waiting for Riley to come on and is slightly tipsy, but she’s having the time of her life and that’s all that matters.
