“This wasn’t supposed to happen,” he murmurs, keeping his eyes locked on mine.

“I know,” I say, but it comes out like a sigh. “You were only supposed to take my virginity, not my fucking heart too.”

A slow grin lights up his face, voice taking on a teasing tone when he asks, “Are you falling in love with me, Colbs?”

“Yes.” I nip his bottom lip with my teeth. “So don’t make this weird.”

There’s a twinkle in his eyes as he captures my lips in a mind-melting kiss. Adrenaline rushes through me, causing my heart rate to spike.

“It’s not weird if I feel the same,” he admits, combing his fingers through the hair that’s fallen into my face. “I didn’t see you coming. I didn’t see this coming, but fuck, you’ve become everything to me. I don’t know how it’ll work either, but I know I’ll do anything to make it possible.”

Pushing myself up with one arm, I stare down at him and slide a palm along his jaw. I tilt my head to the side and echo his words with a smirk. “Are you falling in love with me, Ty?”

“Yes, I fucking am.” He grins and gives my ass a pinch. “It’s the only reason why I’m agreeing to go tomorrow and sing in front of a room full of strangers.”

“What do you mean? It’s going to be fun.”

“For you, maybe. I might end up frozen the second I get on the stage, like a deer in the headlights, unable to breathe, let alone remember how to play the guitar,” he says, his words sounding flustered.

I chuckle softly under my breath.

“Maybe you can just pretend that I’m the only one in the room and you’re playing for me.” I press a kiss to the corner of his lips. “Imagine me naked or something. Like you’re serenading me before you fuck me senseless.”

He must not catch on to my choice of words because his mouth hitches in a lopsided grin. “That wouldn’t be a good idea.”

“Why not?”

“Because there will probably be a spotlight on me, and then everyone will be able to see me get a boner.”

“Speaking of boners,” I say, reaching down to palm his cock over his sweatpants. “We’ve got about two hours until Stassie comes back.”

He arches into my touch. “You are insatiable.”

“It’s your fault. You made me this way,” I say innocently.

Tyler huffs out a moan when I give his half-hard cock a squeeze.

“That I did, and I have zero regrets,” he smirks. “Because you’re mine, Colbs, and I’m never going to get enough of you.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

TYLER

My fingers drum an incessant rhythm against the steering wheel as I drive us into Salem. I’m not nervous exactly, but there is this unfamiliar knot in my stomach.

Hope, maybe?

After Colby dropped to his knees and made me see stars, we lay in his bed, him tucked up against my chest while he talked about the open mic night. There was excitement in his voice, and when I closed my eyes last night, for the first time in twenty-two years, I allowed myself to let my mind wander.

I let myself imagine what my life could look like if I told my dad I wasn’t going to work for him.

Colby and I could get an apartment in whatever city selected him in the draft. Maybe I could find a bar to work in that doubled as a music venue, and I could perform in front of people every month, or even every week.

I could go home to Colby and fall asleep with him in my arms every day.

I know we would still need to be careful about our relationship until Colby felt safe to come out, but I’d be there with him, supporting him through the ups and downs of his career.

Being there for him, as he’s become my entire world.
