“Sorry I stole your line,” she says as we come up for air.

“Are you though?”

Willa purses her lips to one side, pretending to think. I hold back my laughter, even though I know exactly what her answer is.

“Errrmm…maybe not.”

“Didn’t think so.”

She playfully shoves me, wiggling her hips against my crotch, the flannel of my pajamas hitting my morning wood. I groan, the friction from her body too much, yet not enough all at the same time. A knowing, borderline evil smirk forms on Willa’s pretty pink lips. Almost as if she knows what she’s doing.

Oh wait, she does.

“Something I can help you with, Future Mrs. Keller?”

“Ohhhh, I like that.” She giggles. “How long until I’m actually Mrs. Keller?”

“How fast can you plan a wedding?”

Willa’s on her feet a split second later, rushing into the bedroom. I sit up, wondering what happened to the moment I thought this was all leading to. So much for celebrating again.

“Okay, so looking at the calendar…”

“Wills…”

I’m on my feet and over to her in three steps, shaking my head. I’m glad she’s serious, but it’s Christmas. Wedding planning can wait until tomorrow.

“I’m just thinking that—” I cut her off, grabbing her phone and tossing it. The soft thud of it hitting the ground dissolves into the air quickly. “Hey!”

“Later. Right now, I have other plans.” I scoop her up, kissing her hard and fast. She returns my efforts with just as much ardor, and my heart sings. “I need to show you what it means to be mine. For forever.”
