“Guess you aren’t too old then.” She smirks.

Leaning down, I cup her jaw until our mouths touch. “I love you, Gemma. We’re meant to be together. I have zero doubts about that.”

“I love you too.” She wraps an arm around me and brings us closer. “I wish I had waited longer for you. We wouldn’t be in this weird mess if I hadn’t started dating him in the first place.”

“Don’t you dare blame yourself for his behavior. Robert’s on a power trip, and we aren’t gonna let him get away with it,” I reassure her.

“I hope not.” She rests her head on my chest and snuggles into me. “So how’s having sex again after five years?” she asks with a cute chuckle.

Threading my fingers through her hair, I laugh. “Better than I could’ve ever imagined. But it’s only because it’s always felt unbelievable with you—that still hasn’t changed.”

Gemma tilts her head up and flashes a small smile. “I’d be on board with the housewife duties and stay-at-home mom gig as long as it was with the right man.”

“I’d never ask you to do that. I respect you and know how much you love working with your dad.”

“But when I picture you coming home to me, I like the idea of us spending as much time together as we can. You’d cook dinner because obviously…” She chuckles. “I’d give the kids a bath, and after we tucked them in, we’d snuggle on the couch with a glass of wine and talk about our day. Afterward, we’d climb into bed, make love, and then I’d fall asleep in your arms. I wouldn’t even need to dream because nothing would be better than the reality I’d be living with you.”

“You have no idea how much I wanna give that to you, baby,” I tell her sincerely, brushing the pad of my thumb over her cheek. “I never felt worthy enough for you, and it’s partly why I had to go. I needed to make something of myself so I could have that title. Didn’t quite go as planned, though.” I frown, then press a soft kiss to her forehead.

“I don’t understand why you’d ever think that. To me, you hung the damn moon, and I couldn’t care less about anything else.”

“Young and filled with insecurities, I guess. I think that happens when you grow up with no role models and wonder why your mother couldn’t stay sober long enough to be in your life.”

“Have you seen her since you’ve been home?”

I shake my head. “Nope. Don’t even care enough to find out where she lives.”

Gemma nods. “She’s the one who missed out.”

“Especially since I’m so damn loveable…” I waggle my brows, and Gemma releases the sweetest giggle.

“I think we should take a shower,” Gemma suggests.

My eyebrows pop up. “Already?” I know what her insinuation implies.

“You need a break or do I need to remind you of what you’d be missing?” She slides her hand between our bodies and wraps her fingers around my cock. “I think he’s on board.”

“You’re insatiable,” I growl, pushing my hips into her hand as she continues to stroke me. “Fuck.”

“That’s what I thought.” She climbs on top of me and pushes me back as her pussy rubs against me. “I’m not wasting a minute I have with you, so you better meet me in the bathroom in thirty seconds. Otherwise, I’ll start without you.”

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

GEMMA

The moment I leap off the bed, Tyler’s chasing me, and I squeal all the way down the hallway. He quickly catches me in his arms and spins me until I’m facing him.

“Nice try.” He flashes a devilish smirk as his arms slide down my back. “You have an amazing ass, by the way. I can’t stop touching it.”

Tyler has no idea how many years I’ve spent hating my body—too flat, too skinny, too ugly.

He notices my expression change and tilts up my chin. “Whatever negative thoughts are filling your mind right now, stop. You’re beautiful. Your sweet tits and fine ass are just a bonus.”

I burst out laughing and pull his lips down to mine, sinking my tongue into his mouth. “Thank you,” I mutter. “I appreciate you saying that.”

“I fucking mean it, Gemma. Nothing will ever affect how I feel about you. I’m in love with you because of who you are. Not anything else.”

“And that’s why I love the hell out of you. Now, get me in that shower now,” I demand. “I have some wild fantasies to fulfill.”
