“Rascal!” Hallie cried, and I shoved deep and let loose. Hallie’s cries mingled with mine as we both sought release again.

The sight of my cock disappearing into her ass sent me spiralling, and I came. Hallie was seconds behind me as she played with her clit, helping her to come. Spent, I squeezed and rubbed her butt cheeks as I pulled out and yanked her into me.

Hallie lay there in my arms and chuckled weakly. “We need to do that again.”

Yeah. Hallie wasn’t wrong!

After cleaning up, we took a nap in her bed. I’d fucked Hallie over the bath and then in the shower. Hallie was shattered and curled into my embrace like a happy kitten. Deeply asleep, I don’t know what woke me, but it wasn’t the fuckin’ fire alarm. I sat upright as smoke filtered under the bedroom door. What the fuck?

“Hallie, wake up and get dressed!” I yelled, jumping out and shrugging my clothes on in seconds. Hallie’s eyes flew open, and she coughed.

“Fire?” Hallie gasped as she quickly threw on her clothes too. I peered down the hallway. It seemed clear, so I grabbed her hand and headed for the stairs. Once there, we saw the flames creeping along the walls toward the door.

“Hallie!” King roared from outside.

I didn’t hesitate, but yanked Hallie downstairs and tried to open the door. It wouldn’t budge.

“King, it’s locked!”

“It’s jammed from this side!” King shouted and began kicking frantically. Heat touched my shoulders, and I pushed Hallie back upstairs. We had mere seconds before our escape route was swamped in flames. If King didn’t kick it in, we’d be trapped.

But time had run out.

“King, move away, the door’s on fire!” I bellowed and prayed he heard me.

I shoved Hallie into the bedroom and closed the door. Hallie grabbed the duvet and covered the gap at the bottom of the door.

“Fuck, the windows have been painted shut,” I growled. Hallie began to cough as I turned around.

“King, get back!” I roared. I grabbed a stool and smashed it through the window. Glass shattered outwards, and King yelped in surprise. Guess he hadn’t.

“Hallie, come here!” I ordered. Hallie staggered over, coughing hard. The thick smoke was slowly seeping into the room. We had to get out now. I cleared away the sharp shards.

“I’m going to hang you out of the window,” I said. “King will catch you.”

Hallie didn’t argue, which was a miracle, and climbed onto the sill. I balanced her as she spun around and faced me.

With trust in her eyes, Hallie dropped, and I held her arms.

“Drop her!” King yelled.

I did and trusted King. As I was about to climb out after them, a ping forced me back. What the hell had that been? I shook it off and began climbing out again when wood splintered next to me. Shit! Someone was shooting.

“Get Hallie under cover!”

“You can’t stay in there!” King called in return.

“Death by fire or bullet. What a choice,” I bitched. “King, get Hallie safe.” I grabbed the stool and headed for the other window. I smashed through it and heard more shots over the roar of the inferno.

The floor was now smoking, and it would burst into flames soon. I cleared away the loose glass and climbed out. Lowering myself carefully, I hung by my fingers before letting go.

I landed hard and gasped for breath as I felt my ankle turn the wrong way. There wasn’t time to check it over as further shots echoed in a flurry. I rose and limped to the front where Hallie and King were hiding behind a large planter. It barely covered Hallie, let alone King. Seconds later, King jolted as a bullet hit him.

Without hesitation, I yanked out my gun and fired randomly in the shooter’s direction. “Get behind me!” I ordered, and King dragged Hallie over. She ripped her tee off and began padding King’s wound.

“It has to be Kira,” Hallie rasped.

“Yeah. Have you called this in?”
