“Aw, thank you for that.” She brushes her bright red hair over her shoulder and points across the street. “We’re just going to The Hill. Join us.”

“Sure. What the hell?” So much for eating healthy tonight.

We cross the street, and I listen as Katy talks about her kids, Willow and baby Callan, who is only a few months old. Keegan is a stepmother to Fenric, who is one of the most adorable little boys ever. Well, other than my nephew, of course. It’s wonderful to see women I’ve known my entire life with everything they wanted for themselves.

“You’re here!” Tinsley singsongs as we enter, her arms spread out wide and her large, round belly adorably positioned in between. “Oh, and you brought more. Let’s switch tables.”

Before the sentence is fully out of her mouth, a waiter is by her side, making the adjustment for her. She thanks him, and we end up at a high-top table in the bar area. We order a round of cosmos.

“Food?” Katy questions as she checks her glucose on her phone app since she’s a type 1 diabetic before covertly cleaning her lower belly with an alcohol swab and injecting some insulin since she doesn’t wear a pump. “Bennett texted for me not to rush home.”

“Jack is working till eleven tonight,” Wren states.

“I’m good too,” Keegan jumps in. “My parents have Fen since Loomis is on location.”

Tinsley scoffs. “Filming without me.”

Tinsley and Loomis are best friends but also have the best on-screen chemistry and subsequently star in a lot of movies together.

“You’re preggo. I think that trumps filming.” I pat her belly.

She sighs. “I guess. Anyway, Stone is working a late shift tonight too.”

“Same,” Braelyn notes. “Roman is at Southpaw.” Southpaw is one of Roman’s restaurants. He has three in the city. “So let’s order—”

“Ow!” I cry as Braelyn pinches my arm and grabs me in a headlock around the neck and lowers me toward the table. “What the hell, Brae?”

“He’s here,” she hisses in my ear. “Look.”

“What? Who?” everyone cries as their heads whip in unison toward the bar.

“Don’t look!” Braelyn hisses.

“You just told us to look!” Katy protests.

“Not you!” she exclaims. “I was talking to Quinn.”

“I can’t see,” I cry. “You have my face practically against the table, which is gross. What the hell is going on?”

“It’s Coach Rhett,” she whispers so the others can’t hear.

I tense. “Are you sure? How do you know what he looks like?”

“Because I Googled him. Duh.”

“Great,” I mumble under my breath.

“Who are we talking about?” Tinsley questions.

“Awesome. Thanks for doing this in front of the entire town. Let me up!”

“Fine but keep your head down. Unless you want him to see you.”

Her arm untangles from the back of my neck. I keep my head low as I surreptitiously scan the bar area, but from this angle, I can’t see much.

“He’s a random Quinn had a horrible one-nighter with him some months back,” she explains. “He splooged in his pants before she even hit the bed.”

I glare. “What are you doing?”
