“From your lips to God’s ears,” Walker says, tweaking my side with a huge ass grin.

“Dude, not cool.” I shake my head. “We haven’t made any plans, just wanted you to know.”

“You know, I think it’s wonderful. He’s an amazing man and will treat you well.” She loves Walker. She does. It’s her love for me I doubt.

“All right, Mom. We’re just getting in from work. I’ll call you later. Love you.” I hurry her off the phone, so I can do something with this hard cock Walker’s sporting since he won’t stop ogling my boobs.

“Love you. Congratulations,” she adds before hanging up.

“That was easy. I expected her to flip or go on a tangent of it being too soon.” He smiles as I stand.

“She’s been wanting me married long enough. I’m sure she’s thrilled it’s happening.” I reach under my skirt, dragging my panties down my thighs and off my feet. Heat radiates from me. His gaze burns into me as he watches my every move.

“What do you have in mind, Red?” Walker fists his cock, watching me. I shimmy my skirt up. Taking his belt in my hand, I pull it loose. With his help, we make quick work of his pants, and his cock springs free.

I sink my teeth into my lip and I straddle him, sinking down as his hands find my ass. “I’m thinking something like this might be nice.”

“Definitely nice.” He groans as I sway my hips. “Fuck.” His words are drawn out, stirring an intense pang in my belly. I needed him, this. To feel close to him, his need for me. Pitching my hips as I ride him, his hands wander my body. Settling into the small of my back, he pushes me to grind on him until we detonate.

His head rests against mine, our breathing ragged. “Damn, girl. You’re so unexpected.”

“I know the feeling, Walker.”

He lifts my chin, moving the pieces of hair sticking to my face, gazing at me. “I love you.”

He smashes his mouth to mine and I’m lost in him.

I sit in my Jeep, listing every pro and con in the book to come up with a reason to not go in here. I can’t help it. I keep getting the worst pangs of dread when I think about doing this. A knock on the window makes me jump out of my skin.

“Shit!” Alden stands beside the car, his cheeks blown up like a blowfish to keep from laughing. “Fuck you.”

“Sorry, I thought you saw me and was making me knock.” He shrugs with a chuckle.

“No, I’m checking off reasons why I shouldn’t do this. Why? Honestly, it’s been years. He’s never picked up and called me until recently. No birthday cards, no presents of any kind. Hell, I would’ve settled for food at one point.”

Bile races up my throat. I can’t do this. I want to know the truth but why do I have to pay the price to learn it?

He grabs me, hugging me tightly. “I don’t know, Reesie Cup. But one thing is for sure, if you don’t go, you won’t either.”

He’s right. I hate it, but he’s got a point. I take his hand and walk toward the shop. He releases me, kissing my temple, and he holds the door open for me.

My mother and I resemble each other so much. There’s no doubt I’m her daughter. When I spot my dad, I’m thrown with how I look like him. It’s crazy. I’d know him anywhere. I stop at the end of the booth, taking a calming breath.

“Hello, Jeffrey.”

He studies me as if imprinting my image to memory. “Reese, you’re more beautiful than any of your photos.” He stands, offering me his hand.

I take it with a tight smile. “Thank you.” I stifle the nausea with a gulp. “I have to say, I always thought I was the spitting image of my mother. Damn, if I didn’t get that wrong.”

He smiles warmly, and I press my lips into a thin line. I want to hate him. No way will I leave here liking him.

“How are you?” Small talk? Seriously, this is utter ridiculousness.

“I’m good. I have a great job, my own home, and a great man.”

His eyes flicker to his cup as he spins it around and around. He gives an exaggerated sigh when he gazes at me. “I guess I need to get straight to the point.” I give him a pointed stare. “I’ve wanted to contact you for years. I tried quite often when you were younger. Your mother thought it was best we didn’t talk.

“Once you were older, I hoped you would come find me. That never happened, so I decided to bite the bullet. That brings us here, to what I see as the last chance to find out who you are. To spend enough time with you, in hopes of showing you I’m only half as bad as you think.”
