“Hey, I’ve heard a lot about you.” His eyes widen.

I shove my hand in my pocket. “I think everyone has by this point.”

“None of it’s true. I’m bigger.” Lachlan elbows me, but it doesn’t make me feel any better.

One lays his hand on my shoulder. “As a matter of fact, I met Lennox begore Lachlan, so that means we’ve been friends longer.”

“I met him first.” Lachlan flips One off.

“I guess you did, you’re twins.” One glares at him. “Anyway, let me give you the run down so you can be as confused as we are.”

“I appreciate it.”

One chuckles. “You might not, but here goes.” He points to the other side of the yard. “You already know my boys, the Penningtons, and Brannon. This is Alden; he’s our free entertainment when he isn’t on tour.”

I take his hand. “Love your stuff, congratulations.”

“Thanks, man.” Alden nods as we shake.

“At some point, I’ll learn your last names.” I snicker. Lachlan grunts, trying not to laugh. “Don’t.”

One cocks his brow. “There’s a story here, spit it out.”

“Lennox tends not to ask for last names; apparently they’re not important.” He chuckles as my face flames.

“Fuck you! It was one time.” I glare at him.

One wags his finger. “Nope, not happening. We need the full story to judge ourselves.”

I cut my eyes at Lachlan, shooting him a death glare. “I decided to take a quick trip to relax and unwind. I spent the weekend alone, for the most part.”

“Yep, right, there’s the story.” Hardy, One’s brother-in-law, laughs.

Walker stares at me. “No women? I can’t believe that. You’re known for your women.”

“I like women, what’s wrong with that?” I grin with a shrug.

One pats my back. “The way you’re acting, you’re too tired to stand.”

“Oh, he’s wore out.” I may very well kill Lachlan. “This is a story that keeps on giving.”

To my dismay, they begin to chant. “Spill! Spill! Spill!”

“Fine!” I hold up my hands. “There were women everywhere, every night I had not one but two and three on my arm, but I never followed through. I’d get them to their door, and think, no.

“By Saturday, I was determined to pick one and get laid. Pack my shit and haul ass early Sunday so I could beat this asshat home.” I side eye Lachlan, who hasn’t heard the whole story. “Just as I was about to give up, the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on walks up to me.”

I run my hand through my hair, thinking of her dress. “She was wearing a white dress that clung to her every curve. I didn’t know if I should fuck the innocences out of her or marry her, but by god, I planned on doing at least one of them.”

“Hell yes!” Riley cheers.

Lachlan snickers. “Oh, it gets better.”

“We have an incredible night together, and I’m damn well determined to know everything about her to the point I don’t want to leave.”

“Wait.” One’s eyes grow wide. “No. No she didn’t?”

“She ditched me.” I take a long pull from my beer.
