A quick knock on the door and it opens. “Hey, Lenny. Is he here?” I don’t have to look up from my Chess set to know it’s One, my brother’s best friend.

“In there.” I point to the bathroom.

“You comin’?”

“Not on your life.”

“Why are you so crabbit?” Lachlan snaps as he walks into the room.

“Whatever.”

He stops across from me, contemplating his next move before doing it. “It’s better than sitting here and being bored.”

“I’m playing Chess.” I glance at him when he plays into my hands. I move my Bishop in place with a smirk. “Check.”

Lachlan narrows his eyes. “You’re being a wee nyaff.”

“Why do I need to go?” I raise my brow just so I can feel like I’m not looking in the mirror.

“Double the trouble…” One grins.

“Double the fun!” Lachlan waggles his brows. “Come with us. Maybe we can find some triplets.”

“Now that sounds like a plan.” One nods.

Lachlan is my older brother, and he’s also my twin. We moved to the United States nine years ago when our parents opened a distillery in Charlotte, North Carolina. We’re Scottish. Between our accent and slang words, there’s no doubt. It also helps with the ladies.

I shake my head. “Fine, let me get changed.”

“You need to do something with your dragon breath.” Lachlan chuckles.

I pull my shirt off and toss it at his face. “Kiss my ass.”

He catches it. “Not likely, but you might be able to find someone who will.”

“Y’all are the worst twins.” One falls onto the bed, checking his phone. Malone Woods and Lachlan have been best friends since freshman orientation. He’s a Carolina golden boy who has nearly as much money as we do … almost.

“You’ll see, as soon as Chord gets old enough to unnerve you.”

Lachlan glares at me. “Stop yer yapping and get dressed.”

“You sound like Dadaidh when you use ‘yer’.” I laugh.

One cocks his brow. “Seriously, it’s been a year and y’all still confuse me when you speak Gaelic.”

“It’s alright. You all make no sense with yer slang.” Lachlan chuckles with me when One flips me off.

“Make sure you use some Scope too, trout mouth.” He smirks.

Lachlan cackles when I flip One off. “Fuck you.”

“C’mon!! I’m ready to find my lady.” One stands, straightening his shirt.

“Before every other guy gets to her?” Lachlan shakes his head.

“You know, if you weren’t my best friend … and right, I’d be pissed.” One flexes.

I grab my toothbrush and take care of business. Yes, I use mouthwash too. I get my blue shirt and drag it over my head, then run my hands through my hair. “Ready.”
