The evening is spent opening gifts and laughing like crazy at the gag gifts the guys got Lennox.

“We’re using the fuzzy cuffs,” I whisper to his shock.

He nods. “I can work with that. Which bag are they in?”

“I don’t remember.”

I giggle until he yells, “Who got the cuffs and what bag are they in. Just trying to avoid injury in case of emergency.” He scans the room as everyone laughs.

“My parents are here,” I grumble.

He points across the room. “Your dad got them for us.”

“Sweet pickles and rice.” I slap at him as he runs away.

Lachlan helps us get everything home. Everyone stays behind to clean up so we can come home and get some sleep.

“I love our friends and family. That was so sweet.”

Lennox gazes at me, smiling. “I have a question.”

“Shoot!” I take a drink of water, setting my glass on the counter. He bites his lip. “If this is about sex after such a long day, it’s a hard yes.”

He opens his mouth, pausing. “No, it wasn’t, but hold on to the thought—we’ll pick back up in a second.”

“Alright.”

“I did something, and I didn’t tell you.” He cuts his eyes at me.

I lick my lips as my knees shake. “Alright.”

“This might sound crazy to you, and I don’t even know why I’m thinking about it…” he pauses. “Actually, I do.”

I tap my foot. “Will you spit it out already!”

“Let’s adopt a baby.”

I lay my hand on my stomach when butterflies take flight. “Are you serious?”

“Yes.” He walks around, embracing me. “If we get pregnant at any time, great, but if we don’t, it won’t matter.”

“We’re not married.” My legs tremble.

He shrugs. “You don’t have to be here, but let’s get married.”

“You’ll say anything as long as I’m happy.”

He twists his mouth. “Probably.”

“So you want to get married, adopt a child, and try to have a baby … like, next week?”

His eyes widen. “Can we?”

“Dear Lord.” I shake my head.

“Great place to start!” He gooses me, and I grab his wrist.

I step back. “Do not tickle me.”
