Her brows pull tight. “I’m sorry I waited. I was scared.”

“I am too.” I sit up, sliding my hand around her waist. “But it still doesn’t change anything.”

Her face falls. “You said you’d wait, not come to Scotland and become a sexy, hot highlander who rolls around in mud with women.”

I slide my hand around her neck, tracing her cheekbone with my thumb. “I did promise, didn’t I?”

“I came all this way. Your mom gave me these directions, and most of the words are in Gaelic—I don’t speak Gaelic! Then she says, take the car and drive that way. So I did, and now you don’t want me, and I’m covered in mud.” She sniffles.

“I can teach you Gaelic.”

She peeks up at me. “Why would you do that?”

“It might be nice for you to know when I tell you I love you, if it’s in Gaelic or not.” I shrug.

“You do?” She snubs.

“Lola,”—she gazes at me—“I love you.”

“I don’t need a hero. I don’t need saved. I definitely do not need to be found. I found myself when I got divorced. I only need to be loved for being me.”

She places her hand over my heart. “I’ve never known a love like this, Lennox. I love you.”

Our mouths meet of their own volition, taking and giving to one another. Her tongue swirls with mine, driving me crazy. Her mouth dances against my lips in a duet of love and appreciation.

She fists my hair as I grip her ass, pressing our bodies closer together. Our hands claw at one another, crushing our mouths. I move her leg behind me, laying her back. She squeezes me between her thighs, and I moan.

“I need you, now,” she simpers.

I lay over her, gazing into her eyes. “Here, in the mud.”

“You can talk dirty to me.” She nips my bottom lip.

“That’s a given,” I growl.

“I need your hands on me, your words in my ear, and for you to ruin me.” She sweeps her tongue into my mouth.

“Come on,” I stand, pulling her up. “Trust me?”

She grins. “Yeah.”

I walk over to my horse, holding my hand out. “Let’s go.”

“This better be good.” She takes my hand, and I help her on the horse, following her.

“Hold on, it’s just over here.”

The rain comes down harder as we get closer to our destination. I top the hill and look over my shoulder at her, pointing to a meadow.

“It’s breathtaking.” She tightens her grip on me, and my heart feels as though it’s going to beat out of my chest.

We ride over, and I find our spot. I help her down, following her. I waste no time in taking her into my arms. My mouth on hers with every bit of vigor as we can stand. I lift her dress, running my hands under it.

Hooking her panties, I drag them down her legs and shove them in my pocket. She takes my head, pulling me to her lips. Her hands between us work my pants loose. She pushes them down as I unbutton the top of her blouse.

Her breasts bounce as I pick her up, and her legs lock around my waist. She presses her lips to mine as I slide into her, earning me a gasp. She begins to move up and down as I slip in and out.

I slowly take us down on my knees, and she rides me as I pump into her. Our bump and grind starting slow and building as our bodies meet as one. She finds my hair, fisting as she holds her mouth to mine and finds her release.
