The ledger inside is current as of eleven days ago. It lists more infrastructure than the seventeen active facilities we knew: suppliers, transfer sites, shell charities, training properties and financial routes through six countries. Six countries move its money. Every facility named in the ledger remains domestic.

“Copy is at forty percent,” Marcus says. “Prioritize anything current.”

Darius photographs the ledger while I open a thin red folder.

I do not linger.

Ezra’s section is marked C-11 — CRITICAL.

The first page repeats what we already recovered: compulsive verification, probability dependence, persistent attachment, Wager reactivation.

The second page does not.

My hands go cold.

Ezra designed his surveillance plan himself. He requested the window. He chose the abort conditions. Every part of that autonomy may be real, and the protocol planned to use it anyway.

“Marcus.”

“I have the page.” His voice changes as he reads the live image. “Nikolai is issuing abort now.”

“Dominic?” Darius asks.

“Recovery team is moving to the return route. Both trackers still active.”

I photograph the next page.
