“Perfect as usual. Thank you.” I spin around and tip her chin.

“You are the one that needs to be thanked. You’ve given me this great family that I’m so thankful for. I feel like this house is now a home and I can’t wait until I knock you up again.”

“Surprisingly, me either. I’m looking forward to having a handsome son just like this daddy.”

“Thank you for letting me be obsessed about you.”

“I live for it. Now kiss me quickly before I have to feed the baby.” A wail comes from the carrier right on time like she heard her mother calling. “Maybe we should wait on the next one,” she teases.

“Nah. The sooner we have them all the sooner, they’ll be out of the house, and we can run around here naked all day.” I wag my brows up at her as she sits in the chair with the baby on her engorged, scrumptious `looking breast.

“You’re crazy.”

“In love.”

“Forever.”

EPILOGUE

TEN YEARS LATER

Ten years and I wouldn’t trade a damn thing. She stands at the kitchen sink, rinsing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I can’t look away even at such a menial task; my wife looks as beautiful as the day I met her.

“Are you just going to stand there all day, just staring?”

“I didn’t want to interrupt you while you were looking so sexy. The view here is fantastic.”

“Mr. Walker, what has gotten into you this evening?”

“Nothing out of the usual, babe.”

“How was your day?” she asked, slipping the last dish inside and closing the door.

“Busy as usual. We won three new bids that’ll take a few months to complete.”

“So you’re going to be really busy?”

“Not unless they need me on any of the job sites. I’m hoping that’s not the case. How are you, beautiful?”

“Wonderful now that you’re home.”

“It’s too damn quiet. Where are our children?”

“I wore them out at the park.” We have one girl and two boys and stopped there.

“They only have two more weeks of school. Are you going to be able to handle them on summer vacation?” They can be a handful, especially the boys who love rough housing.

Thankfully, my parents are coming down to visit. “I was thinking, do we have time for a vacation together?”

“Absolutely. How about we take a trip down to South Padre again?”

“I’d like that.”

“Do you know when you’ll have time?”

“I’ll find time. If it comes down to it, we can make it an extended weekend.”

“Sounds good to me.” I kiss her irresistible lips and then help her finish cleaning the kitchen.

Two weeks later, I have my kids ready to go in the car while Rosalyn brings out a bag of snacks. I got them. The kiddos cheer. “Yay, Mommy, you’re the best.”

“Yes, she is,” I answer. “Now let’s get on the road.”
