A shadow graced the door a moment before Lucifer himself walked in. He marched across the floor, looking every bit the badass she remembered from when Riker took her to Charon’s to meet the man that started the fall. Other than being clueless about a great many things, he was actually entertaining. He was apparently going through a leather fetish at the time, and the outfit was a little unusual, to say the least. Skin tight leather pants, black combat boots, with a black T-shirt were one thing, but it was the long cape with fur on the collar that had her wonder what the heck?

The only thing was Lucifer rarely came up to Earth. In fact, he only did so when he was bored or wanted to cause some sort of mischief. She was terrified to find out why he was here with her alone at work.

“You can put your toys away. I’m not here to hurt you.” Lucifer walked past her and held out an entire tray of coffee and three boxes of donuts that would have fed twenty people.

She slipped her swords away and took the offering. “Thanks, I think.”

“What? Isn’t that the standard food for cops?”

She was tempted to correct him that she wasn’t a cop and that the comment was very prejudiced, but then again, it was Lucifer, was there really a point?

“It’s great, thank you, I’ll sit everything over here.” Before she could move, he grabbed a coffee and a couple powdered doughnuts, and she had to stifle a laugh as she turned around. Lucifer had a powdered mustache Minetta made her way across the floor and sat down across from the devil, a little terrified to see why he’d come to visit her.

“So how can I help you, Lucifer, Prince of Darkness?”

“Call me Luci. You and Riker are doing the horizontal mambo we are past the formal stage.”

“Okay, Luci,” she said, and there were no words to describe how strange that felt to say. “How can I help you?”

He pointed to her chest, and she looked down, terrified to see what was wrong. “That’s a really nice ruby.”

“Thank you, Riker gave it to me.” She smiled wide and rubbed her hand over the stone.

“It looks like the ones on my throne. The man has good taste.” Lucifer smiled, and as he did, she swallowed hard, remembering all too well the smirk on Riker’s face. The man was going to have his ass tanned. Then again, he’d like that.

Shit.

“Anyway, I need your advice.” He leaned back in the chair and chugged down the coffee.

She prepared herself for what he said next because whatever this was about, it could not be good.
