I have been so enamored with Josie, that gaining a helicopter has no longer been at the forefront of my mind. This entire setup is half completed and could crumble soon if we wanted it to. But she loves me, and I love her. I shake my head at the entire absurdity of wanting to buy a helicopter in the first place. Yes, traveling all the time sucks, but what fun is a helicopter without someone to fly co-pilot? All these years of searching for myself through long lists of past sins, and I’m finally where I want to be, with the person I want to share life with.
Lurking in my gut is the larger issue I may have to face in the coming weeks with Josie. Where it leaves us when she has access to her own funds. She still needs to explore and see the world, and I won’t make her bend on that. I’m ready to let her know, that when the time comes, I’m willing to go without seeing her while she’s on her personal freedom tour. As much as the thought of her alone spikes my anxiety, it’s what she deserves.
I inhale and filter out the thought of her leaving me as I open the next email. Adrianna’s signature knock rattles my door a moment later. She should be on her lunch break.
“Adrianna?” I question as the door slowly opens.
“I had your publicist, which I didn’t know you had, call and ask about confirming your attendance for the movie premiere next weekend?” Shit. I forgot I agreed to that months ago.
“I’ll be there, but no after party.” She nods, adjusting her glasses with a confused look.
“A plus one?”
“I’ll get back to you on that. I will be there, for sure.” I promised a buddy of mine on that infamous yacht last summer that I’d go. And as much as I don’t want to, I’m a man of my word.
I pull out my phone, smiling at the background. My grandmother loved the cookie photos we sent, so since then it’s been a weekly thing to send her photos of us. Now, my phone gallery is nothing but Josie and me making goofy faces.
Me:
I need to head to LA this weekend for an event. Can you join?
Josie:
Sounds amazing! But no this weekend is one of my busiest yet. I can’t cancel on ppl.
My fingers hover above the mini keyboard, wondering if she’ll continue to work once she has access to her trust fund.
Me:
I’ll miss you, but I’m glad you’re putting others first.
Josie:
keep the praises coming.
Me:
I’ll praise you coming on my cock.
Josie:

Me:
