So, everyone’s role in society was important as a checks and balances of sorts.

Even Trent’s.

As they approached, the man’s home loomed up in the distance. It was a damn nice home, too. It was one of the Victorians down the street from The Captain and Agatha’s home.

“How much money are we talking?” Honor asked, as they saw the Jaguar in the driveway. “Because that car cost more than my salary for two years.”

Tori told her.

“Well, to answer that, he likely has shoes that cost more than your car. A lot of his wealth seems to be from his parents. They owned this house before him.”

Well, that was horrifying.

“Okay, here’s how we’re playing it.”

Only, Honor didn’t get to say anything more because Tori and Julian had jumped out and were already walking down the man’s driveway to the house.

“Goddamn Littlemoons,” she muttered, hauling ass to catch up.

“Before you say shit,” Tori said, “We took his case for his client. We’re hitting him up first.”

Honor was about to argue when Tori and Julian stopped dead in their tracks.

“What?” Honor asked.

Tori told her.

“This place is filthy with the dead. The yard is full,” she admitted, with her doors wide open.

Julian agreed.

“I see ten in just the yard,” he admitted. “We found a spot where they still are in this town. Thank God!”

Tori stared at her husband.

Someone was happy to see dead people, and that was NOT the norm.

Honor was curious.

“So does that mean he’s not ‘eating’ the dead here?” she asked. “Or whatever term applies? Because if they’re congregating here…”

Tori wouldn’t know until she asked them, but at that moment, they had another issue.

“Heads-up.”

They all looked over, and on the porch was the attorney. He was standing there with a cup of coffee, and a curious look on his face.

It was time to have a talk.

Heading his way, they stood at the bottom of the stairs on the grand porch.

“Hey,” he said. “Has something come up with the case?” he asked, curiously.

Call him surprised to have company.

Trent had been walking to his library, and saw the car pull up. Curiosity had the best of him when he saw a detective and the Littlemoons get out.

“You could say that,” Honor stated. “Do you have some time?”
