Chapter Fifteen

Outside The Office

Saturday

Morning

To say that she was pissed would be an understatement, and when Hart found Bishop, she was pacing back and forth in the parking lot. From the tension in her body, and the look on her face, there was no doubt that she was about ready to light the man’s office on fire.

And dance around it naked.

Since they already had witches who liked that kind of shit, and the media would have a field day, he tried to calm her down.

Before they were investigating another murder.

Doctor Leon Kenyon’s.

Because in order to get Bishop Monroe this angry, you really had to try hard. It was a damn good thing that she’d not caught the last part of the conversation.

“Bish, breathe,” he said, angry himself at the man for not only helping destroy a family, but also a man’s life post his wife’s death.

Well, while his suggestion was helpful, she was struggling with that.

Honestly, she was trying.

“Get it off your chest. Just say it. You know you can trust me to be here for you. You’re family.”

That was the ONLY reason she was about to vent.

“Lucian and Ridge came to us,” she said. “They both came to us and asked if we were good with it. They were willing to abort that mission by just not letting it happen. She said yes. I was there. She told her husband it was fine. What happened in the static was not on this plane! She could have told them no! She could have told me she was upset! I would have told them for her!”

Hart let her talk.

It was clear that she was torn between her love for Wynter, and the two men who were going to likely wear the guilt on this one.

“The men specifically said they wouldn’t do it if it upset either one of us!”

Hart had a question.

“Does it bother you?” he asked. “Because I’d have a hard time with it. If I found out Lennox was having sex with some other man…”

She stopped him.

“First, no. I trust my husband, and I love Ridge. I know that their gift is reliant on certain things. Secondly, my husband isn’t fucking a woman in the static. He’s fucking Ridge. To me, that’s a whole different thing. If your wife said she wanted to have sex with a woman, what would you do?” she asked him. “Not a dude, but a lady?”

That was easy.

He laughed.

“I’d say what every man would. Could I watch?” he joked, trying to calm the woman down. She was pregnant and her blood pressure was up. He could see her aura.

She went there.

“Would it upset you?”

Hart considered it.
