I’m relieved. I’ve already missed important moments of this pregnancy. My thoughts take me back to the conversation we just had. “I’m sorry you couldn’t get a hold of me.” I trace my thumb over her tattoo. “Sorry for the whole Annette thing—the article, the social media, all of it. I let Bob and Henry hear about it.” I pause. “And I’m so fucking sorry for saying I’d fuck Annette.”
“I know.”
“I would never do that to you with anyone—”
“I know, Max.” She sighs. “I’m sorry too. It’s been a rough couple of months, hasn’t it?”
“It has. I think we work better together than apart. Don’t you think?”
“You’re right.”
“Now, let’s go shower. I intend to keep my promises tonight.” When I extend my hand, she takes it, following me as I lead her toward the bathroom door.
I reach for the shower knob, letting the water heat while my fingers find the hem of her shirt, then each button, each clasp, until nothing remains between us. She stands before me, all naked and beautiful. My fingertips trace the gentle rise and fall of her silhouette, memorizing every curve of her delicious body. I bring my lips to her stomach. The small roundness of it. Our child is in there. I stay there for a moment. Both hands curved around her hips, forehead pressed to her skin. She runs her hands through my hair. The times we ran into each other, she was always tugging on her shirt. The parking lot, the café, the campus. I thought it was self-consciousness. She was hiding our baby. Right there in front of me. Every time my phone rang, I had to leave. She always wore a look of disappointment. Like she had something to say on the tip of her tongue.
“Take off your clothes,” she moans out as I lick my way up to her swollen nipples. I don’t know much about pregnancy, but it seems her breasts are larger.
“Eager?” I ask.
She peels off my shirt, then rushes to unbutton my jeans. Noted. No words needed. Once she has me naked, she eye fucks me, no shyness in her like when we first started up. She drinks me the same way I’m doing to her. Three months felt like three years away from her.
I’m already hard as stone for her. She doesn’t make it easy. The palms of her hands glide up my chest to the nape. I hoist her so she doesn’t have to be on her tiptoes, and our lips slant into a slow, steady kiss. Her legs wrap around my middle, and her nipples drag on my chest, making my body ignite into flames. The warm water trickles down my spine as her fingers press harder into my shoulders, her breath catching when I pull her closer against the shower wall. Steadying her, I brush the wet hair close to her eye. Our kisses become urgent, and my teeth graze her bottom lip as my hand slides up her neck, holding her there. We swallow each other’s moans.
She steadies herself. Warm hands glide up and down, stroking my cock, pulsing at her touch. I can’t help but moan. She feels so damn good, and we haven’t done anything but kiss. A flicker of water falls on my eyelids from my head tilted against the wall. I shift my gaze when her hands brush down my thighs.
“What are you doing?” My voice comes out raspy. Sol’s about to kneel. I shake my head at her. “No, I said I would—” My words are cut off with a groan, her mouth sucking on the tip, then she glides up and down.
“Birthday gift from me,” she says, and winks.
Damn, that wink always gets me. Then her mouth goes back to taking me all in.
I grit my teeth as her tongue strokes the underside of my shaft, teasing me. Her eyelashes flutter as she watches me. Licking, sucking, and driving me crazy, working me as if she craved it. Biting my bottom lip, I knot my fingers in her hair, working her head up and down. “Goddamn, baby,” I groan, bobbing her head. She looks so pretty with those lips around it. I’m so close she gags but doesn’t push back. Sol deep-throats until my hot release floods her lips. “Swallow,” I demand. She does. I lift her up now, more turned on than I was. It’s definitely going to be a long night.
Sol
Max drags his lips over mine, tasting himself as he devours me in a satisfied kiss. “Happy Birthday.” I exhale, trying to catch my breath. He looks at me like I’m the center of his universe. “Next year will be better. We’ve never spent a birthday together.” The times we crossed paths, it was weeks until our birthdays.
“This birthday was amazing. I couldn’t ask for more.”
He kisses my shoulder with such gentleness. His thick fingers massage my scalp, lathering the shampoo. My back is pressed to his chest, his hard-on poking at my lower back. Damn, I’m horny. He’s taking his time washing my hair when all I want to do is climb on him and shove him inside me and suck on that perfect neck. He reaches for the bodywash setting on the shelf, squeezing it onto my sponge. When he turns me to face him, the smile on his face makes me melt into a puddle.
“What are you grinning at?” I ask, my smile matching his.
“You make me happy,” he rasps, his eyes darkening, traveling over my body.
I get on my tiptoes and kiss him tenderly. “I love you.” Kiss. “You make me happy, too. Now, can you hurry up with your slow washing? We have some angry fucking to attend to.”
His Adam’s apple bobs with laughter. “I’m trying to stretch out the night,” he says while spraying water on my shoulder to rinse out the suds. “And I want to make up for my cruel words.”
I shrug. “All forgotten. Just don’t do it again.” I cock a brow at him.
“Never again,” he says, turning the water off. Stepping out, he hands me a towel. “I did the math. The baby will be here in December, is that correct?”
“Yes.”
He nods, thinking hard.
I’m about to wrap the towel around when he pulls it away. “You won’t be needing that.”
