I lean back.

“If they aren't cooperative, I want him to make them hurt.” I pause. “And the drugs?”

“Well, that's the weird part.” He frowns at the data floating beside him. “The transaction trail is encrypted. Someone is messing with us.”

His gaze lifts to meet mine.

“With you.”

My face reddens with fury. A member of my own gang is stealing from me.

If I find him, he's a dead man.

I punch my coffee table, and it gives way instantly, offering no resistance.

I force myself to calm down.

I might need new stitches in my knuckles now. Blood is already dripping onto my floor.

“Find out who,” I order. “And when you do, bring them to me.”

He nods and hangs up.

Some fucker thought he could steal from me in my own gang?

Fucking big mistake. I'll deal with him.

And when I'm done... I'll come back to her.

I'm not done, far from it.

Look What You Made Me Do - Taylor Swift

There were no signs of a break-in.

No broken windows, the door never opened from the outside after I got home.

The neighbors arrived too late, he was already gone.

Even my last name didn't make the Enforcers take me seriously.

I kept describing the facts—Evren, what he did, what happened—without going into too much detail, but no one fucking believed me.

My father got wind of the situation and told them that I sometimes have a tendency to be dramatic.

That made me fucking furious.

I smashed a chair against the wall and didn't stop until something broke.

It's been a week now, and I still haven't been able to sleep properly.

He found me the night after the race, and ever since he broke into my apartment, the rage and paranoia have clung to me.

Dark circles sit under my eyes, and every little noise makes me tense.
