I smiled against her cunt before diving back in. We agreed on three, but it was easy to go to four. Then five. I was trying to bide my time.

Because once we were outside this room, reality would sink in on us.

I wasn’t going to let her go, not after I had her. And once she found out who I really was, there was no telling what she would think of me.

So for now, I would give her everything. And tomorrow I would come clean.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” Sloan said as we met in her office the next morning.

I ran my hand through my hair, exhaustion settling in.

“You don’t get it—”

“It was my idea to bring her in! I’ve known how much you wanted her, so I gave you your chance, and you didn’t come clean—”

“What did you want me to say? Hey, I know I just bought you for two million dollars, but are you still going to want to fuck me after knowing I’m your daughter’s friend?”

Sloan gave me a deadpan look, silence spreading throughout the small office space.

“Yes! That’s exactly what you should have said! And don’t downplay it—you’re best friends.”

I sighed and leaned against the wall of her office.

“I’ll come clean, I promise.”

She finally nodded and sank back down onto her chair.

“You better because my wife thinks she is the best curator out there, and the club has paid her a hefty sum.”

Guilt ate at my insides as I let the words settle between us.

I had wanted to tell Liz the truth so many times, but I couldn’t bring myself to. I’d been selfish.

I knew who she was the moment she stepped onto the stage. I wasn’t planning to purchase anyone, but that was Sloan’s surprise to me.

She knew I had a thing for my best friend’s mom. Sloan had gotten it out of me when she jokingly asked me what it would take to actually enjoy the benefits of the club I provided security for.

“An extremely hot MILF by the name of Elizabeth Thorne,” I’d said.

Little did I know one day she would deliver. Her being the art curator for the club was a coincidence.

I had gotten to know Claire in college and only saw her mother by chance. She showed up for her graduation, and I found myself taken by her beauty. They were so close that I found myself backing away, but if there was a place where I knew her mother would show up, I made sure to as well.

There was something about her. I couldn’t pull my eyes away, and, at first, I couldn’t really home in on what drew me in. Of course she was superhot, but it was more than that. After a while, I started realizing it was the look in her eyes—the look of someone who’d been through something.

I recognized it—it haunted my eyes at times too, especially in my high school pictures.

That look led me to start my own security company.

And then I started noticing more about her. How she kept whatever was hurting her out of her relationship with Claire and put on that bright smile of hers.

Maybe her mask worked on everyone else, but not me.

It made me want to know even more about her.

Apparently, I wasn’t very memorable, though I wouldn’t hold it against her—Claire never liked sharing much about her life with her mother, so I guessed she wouldn’t really talk about me.

That was probably better at the time. It saved me from getting too attached and making a fool of myself.
