When we got out of the stadium and into the dark night, my heart was racing and I was sweating, but both of us were keeled over laughing as if the whole adventure had been the funniest thing in the universe.

When we turned to look at each other, we laughed even harder.

Her hair was all over the place from my fingers, and I knew my clothes were rumpled. What we had been about to do was written all over our bodies… and I didn’t care.

I would do it again.

Because the way we laughed together was like nothing I’d ever felt before. Because the smile she gave me was too mesmerizing to regret.

I never had a moment where I just felt so… free.

I had experienced true happiness a handful of times in my life, and almost all of them had to do with Claire. Granted, some had been about my career, but most of it didn't feel like it belonged to me.

This happiness between Jax and me at that moment might have been shared, but it was mine as much as it was ours. I could feel the shackles that had been weighing me down over the years slowly breaking off one by one until I felt lighter than I ever thought I could.

Before either of us could start rationalizing any of it, I took her hand and pulled her to where my car was parked.

“Still down for some car sex?” I asked with a wink.

She gave me another blinding smile.

“Do you even have to ask?”

Jax

“Are you sure you two don’t want to fuck my girl?” I asked Sloan as I watched Lillian lean over to look at something Liz was showing her—a card or something she got from the bar.

They were sharing a drink, the dim lighting making the whole scene look even more intimate.

I was joking, but when Sloan turned to me with a sly smile, I had to roll my eyes.

These two.

I started to know more about Sloan’s personal life once I started working with her and the club, which included how she and Lillian invited multiple people into their bed. Even Ax and her partner.

There was nothing wrong with it. It was actually quite common in the club setting. But the thought of Liz domming someone else left a sour feeling on my tongue.

Maybe in a few years, once Liz and I had been together for a while, I could consider letting someone else—

I had to stop those thoughts in their tracks.

“Oh, I saw that,” Sloan teased with a wag of her brows. “Jealousy is kicking in, isn’t it?”

I plastered a smile on my face. If Sloan wanted to mess with me, I wasn’t going to make it easy for her.

“Aren’t you supposed to be working?” I asked, motioning to the rest of the club.

The music was low, but not enough for people to eavesdrop. The lights were dim, but light enough to see your partner. There was a steady hum of conversation as the crowd moved around the spacious underground club.

But what really made this different from a standard club were the few stages spread throughout the space, all with people on display.

Many of them naked.

Many of them having sex.

Whether alone with a toy or a person—or multiple.

Liz and I had been recruited into Club Pétale’s newest venture, a smaller underground club type right in the middle of the city.
