He slowly raised both empty hands where everyone aboard Sea Whisper could see them.

Ward frowned.

"That's not a boarding posture."

Ben nodded.

"No."

"It's a greeting."

Storm stared through the binoculars.

The older man wasn't looking at the SEALs.

He wasn't studying the yacht.

He was looking directly at her.

Even from across the water...

She could feel it.

As though he'd known her all her life.

Then the wind carried his voice across the waves.

It was faint.

Barely more than a whisper.

But Storm heard every word.

"You're his granddaughter..."

"...aren't you?"

The world seemed to stop.

Grandpa.

He hadn't said his name.

He didn't have to.

Storm lowered the binoculars slowly.

Her heart pounded.

"Who..."

She whispered to herself.

"...are you?"
