“Better than nothing,” he pants against her. “Better than you forgetting.” With a second finger, he teases her entrance, words obscured against her cunt. “Hate me. Hate me forever. Hold onto it.”

She buries her face against her arms, but there’s no hiding her need now. He’s seen it; it’s dripping down his chin. She swirls her hips around his fingers, but she needs more. Chaos slides down her throat like honey, a gateway drug that makes her chase a stronger high. “Give me your tail.”

Surprised, his fingers slip in deeper until she moans. Her throat aches to command him with her song, but she doesn’t have to. He retracts, sucking sharply on her clit until he pulls back with a gasp. “If you will it.”

The words ring in her ears. She hasn’t heard them in years. No one has offered her that since Cav was in the grotto, but now, his scaled tail coils up around her thigh and settles at her entrance.

Her pulse thrums. It was ridiculous to ask. She’s never done anything like this, but her craving has made her delirious. She eases back against the tip and stretches over the smooth scales. Stars burst behind her eyes. When she gasps, his tail twitches, pressing his malleable spines against an exquisite place inside her.

Somehow, it seems wrong, but that only melts desire over every other thought until she’s sticky with want. Now she has Cav from both ends. She swivels her hips back and forth, fucking over his tail before she grinds against the heat of his mouth. It’s impossibly good, enough to make her toes curl behind his back. When she sets a rhythm, Cav is all too eager to follow. She’s used people before, but never like this. Never someone who wasn’t trying to use her. Never someone so willing, giving everything and taking nothing.

Nothing except her sanity. He waits until her thighs start to tremble, her leg tugging him closer, an orgasm clawing to escape. That’s when he grips her hips and forces her still. She struggles to grind against his mouth, to sink back over his tail, but he holds her in purgatory.

She snarls and jerks against the restraints. “I’m going to fucking kill you. I’m going to destroy you. I’m going to rip you apart —”

Only then does he free her, returning his torturous mouth to her cunt. “Say it again,” he groans. “It tastes so fucking good.”

Her skin glows brighter against the blindfold. Lyx tries to sprint to the finish line, but the path Cav leads her down forces her to slow and stumble and stop. Everything he does comes with a question, assurance, or confirmation. She hates it. She hates him.

Her moans cut through the night air. There’s no disguising them. Below, the party grows more frantic, but Lyx can’t spare a thought for them when Cav is honed on her clit. With the rock of her hips, his movements grow insistent, hunting her release as eagerly as others have hunted the rest of her.

Then he twists his tail inside her, a new stroke that sears white-hot down her spine. He never switches his pace on her clit. Not when her hips stutter, when she curses, when her fingers curl in the restraints.

She’s past the point of no return, boiling over, and Cav keeps up with her when he growls, “I dare you to come.”

She tries to hide it from him. As if his tail isn’t buried in her cunt, his mouth suctioned to her clit, his hands trying to wrangle her bucking hips. Her lips clamp shut to swallow the noises, but her cunt clenches around him in shockwaves of her release.

His tongue keeps moving. He might stay there all night mouthing at her if she didn’t squirm, lightheaded with renewed arousal budding between her legs.

That’s a horrifying thought. The post-orgasm clarity falls over her like a veil and stifles her with shame. This is not what she’s meant to be doing. She’s supposed to destroy him, not come apart the first time he fucks with her.

She uses her knee to push his head back and pry him off her clit. “I meant what I said.” Her voice is so pathetically weak, but by some miracle, Cav doesn’t mention it. “About killing you.”

“I know you did.” He eases out from between her legs, boards creaking when he rises, and then, his mouth is against her ear. “I could taste it.”

She tries not to shudder. She can smell herself on him. His hands find her wrists to unwind her slowly from the bindings, and she hisses when her arms drop free, pins and needles prickling beneath her skin. She sags back against the mast. Heat spreads through Cav’s palms as he rubs up and down the length of her arms.

Only then does she remember the blindfold. Embarrassment streaks through her as she pushes the bandana off her eyes, blinking against the dim light. His face comes into focus, lit by the flickering firelight in his chest. His cheeks and chin are a mess of her desire, but he doesn’t look ashamed as he massages the sore muscles around her wrists. His smile is soft, as decadent and inviting as a warm bath.

Her throat cinches closed. It throbs like her song is being pulled away from her, like she’s yearning for something out of reach. Did Tidus sail away? Did he take her song and leave her behind? She scans the dark island, but his blue flag is still fluttering behind some trees.

She swallows the discomfort. There’s nothing to fear. Her song is still close by.

Below them, the crowd whistles and cheers. She’d forgotten about them. Cav still pays them no mind when his eyes search hers. “Are you ok?”

Lyx doesn’t answer. She tries to stand fully, but her legs wobble beneath her. It’s a long-forgotten feeling, the same one as climbing onto shore after weeks in the sea.

“Easy…” Cav catches her around the waist and supports her full weight against him. “There’s no rush. We can stay up here until you can climb down.”

His body radiates warmth, keeping the cool breeze at bay. Her fingers curl into his shirt before she thinks better of it, and she forces herself to step away.

“Don’t flatter yourself. I’m fine.” Perhaps she doesn’t trust herself to make it down the ladder, but she certainly won’t admit that aloud. Instead, she focuses on bracing against the railing and pushing back any curls that have fallen out of place. “Your mouth didn’t have that much of an effect.”

“No?” His lip quirks, eyes flicking to where her arm is quivering. “What about my tail, then?”

That devilish appendage sways cheekily behind him. Arousal swarms her at the memory of his scales, the perfect stretch, the muscle control when he twisted inside her. She drops her hand, shaking her head and willing her trembling legs to still. She refuses to look at the devilish glint in his eyes.

“Guess I’ll have to try harder next time.”
