I sweep up the broken glass, mop the floor and remake it with another comforter that is in the closet. I make sure to take a picture of the tag on the stained one so I can find her the exact one. Noticing her phone plugged into the charger by the bed, I pick it up and it opens.

No password. “Well that makes this much easier.” I whisper to myself as I quickly download a tracker application and hide it somewhere within the millions of apps so she won’t find it.

I check my phone and pull the app up. The little dot says Honeybee showing she’s here with me.

By the time I’m done, she’s finished her food and looks tired as hell. “Let’s get you to bed.” I say from the doorway to her room.

“Aren’t we going to talk about why you broke into my apartment and sat in the dark like a stalker until I got here?” She quirks a brow.

I smirk and cross my arms, “Not really breaking in if you leave your window unlocked.”

She rolls her eyes and I resist the urge to walk over and bend her over my knee. “Don’t roll your eyes at me unless you want me to do something about it.”

Her eyes widen at my bluntness, then she nervously breaks eye contact.

She clears her throat and examines her palms, “So… Why are you here?”

I shrug my shoulders, “I was bored and wanted to see what you were up to.” I notice her palms are red.

Her brows shoot up, “You were bored and wanted to see what I” She points to herself, “was up to?” She pauses and when I don't say anything she continues, “You know, normal people would text or call or I don’t know… knock on the door first.” She throws her hands up by her face and shakes her head.

It's fucking cute. My lip tilts, “I don’t have your number. Let me see your hands.” I say as I walk towards her.

“Oh, it’s nothing. ” She tries to brush me off. It’s as if I watch a lightbulb go off in her head, her hands slap down to her thighs making her wince, “Did you knock on my front door before going through the window?”

Of course I didn’t knock first, but I’m not going to tell her that. “Yes.”

Her face scrunches up and she does the hand thing again, looking to the side, she says “So, you just thought you’d break into my apartment and wait for me to get here?” Her gaze locks onto mine as she slaps her hands back down and winces again.

I smirk, ignoring her and reach down grabbing both of her wrists to make her palms face up. They are all red, irritated and scratched up.

My ears start to ring with irritation. “What happened?”

She briefly bites her bottom lip, as if she’s getting irritated and peels her hands away from me. “I fell….What if I was sleeping?”

I stuff my hands in my pockets and shrug, “You weren’t sleeping. Did you clean your hands properly?”

She huffs, “I washed them with soap and put on some ointment, quit changing the subject. What if I was and you woke me up and I shot you?”

I tilt my head, “Make sure you do that every day. You have a gun?”

I watch her face fall and she takes a deep breath before blowing out and continuing with annoyance in her tone, “Got it, dad. No, but that’s beside the point. What if I did? What if I shot you and killed you?” Her head bobs as she says each word.

I shrug, “But you didn’t.”

She huffs again, “Well, no shit, Reed. I said what if. It’s not smart to crawl through someone’s window like that.”

I just smile at her cause she’s fucking adorable when she gets all riled up and it seems to irritate her even more.

I’m pretty sure I see steam coming from Lexie’s ears as we stare at each other in brief silence.

She finally gives up, breaking eye contact and stands. “Welp. I’m too tired and high for this right now. You should go so I can go to sleep.”

If I had my way I would crawl in bed and hold her until she falls asleep, but with how irritated she is right now, she might stab me, so I just smile and say, “Okay” because I don’t want to deal with that right now. On second thought, it might be good foreplay. I smile to myself and walk towards the window. “Lock this behind me.” I say as I unlock it.

“Why don’t you use the door?” she says with her hands on her hips.

If I tell her my bike is near the back of the building, she’ll call me out on my shit for not actually knocking on the door. Who is going to park behind a building just to walk to the front?
