“I could ask them discreetly. Leave names out of it and see what the options are without them ever knowing anything about you.”

Will sat on the arm of the couch. “I don’t know.”

“It feels like it’s worth a shot to me. A potential solution.”

Will sighed. “You have to keep my name out of it. This can’t connect back to my family.”

“I promise I won’t mention any names.”

Will stared at the floor for several long moments before he nodded as he raked his fingers through his hair. “Okay.”

“If I go make some phone calls, will you be okay? You’re not going to hurt yourself?”

Will shook his head. “I’m going to try Mac again.”

He studied Will’s ghostly complexion. “How about you get yourself something to eat and try to get a couple hours of sleep.”

Will shook his head again. “My family’s gone.”

“I don’t see that changing over the next couple of hours. You’ll be able to think more clearly if you get some rest. I’m going to take Lydia’s SUV and head out, so I’ll have a little privacy. I’ll let you know what my clients have to say as soon as I can.”

Will nodded. “Okay.”

“We’re going to figure this out.”

“I’m not feeling optimistic.”

“There’s a solution. We just have to figure out what it is.”

Will nodded again.

Ty hurried back down the hall and outside, grabbing his phone from his pocket, dialing Nick.

“Yeah?”

“I got it. All of it.”

“Are you kidding me right now?”

“No. I’ll head to the apartment in the next couple of minutes.”

“Holy shit, man.”

Hanging up as he made it to the pool house, he punched in the code, moving into the entryway as Lydia rushed off the couch with a clean T-shirt that she was folding in her hand.

“What did he say?”

He grabbed her keys. “I need to go.”

She frowned as she moved closer. “What’s going on?”

“I’ll explain everything when I get back.”

“When will you be back?”

“I’m not sure.” Then he walked out, knowing that leaving her to wonder was an absolute dick move. But he would have to make it up to her because Will had big fucking problems.
