“Attention.”
Honest at least.
I take another drag from the cigarette while looking up at her.
“And how exactly were you planning on getting that?”
Blair’s expression turns mischievous immediately.
Never a good sign.
She takes the cigarette from my fingers casually before slowly climbing directly into my lap.
One knee settles beside my thigh before the other follows, her body warm against mine while my hands instinctively slide to her hips.
“There,” she says softly. “Much better.”
“You’re trouble.”
“You like trouble.”
Fair. I do, especially when it looks like her.
Her hips shift slowly against mine once.
Not enough to be innocent.
My jaw tightens instantly.
“Blair.”
“What?” she asks innocently while dragging smoke from the cigarette. “I’m just curing my boredom. Scratching my itch,”
“No, you’re playing with fire.”
Her eyes glitter beneath the city lights.
“Hmm maybe. But can you really blame me? After all, it’s been so long since your fire burnt me,”
Then she moves again.
Slower this time and more intentional.
My fingers tighten harder against her hips automatically while a quiet curse slips from my mouth before I can stop it.
Blair notices immediately and the smug little smile spreading across her face nearly ruins me.
“Oh,” she says softly. “That got a reaction.”
“Careful.”
“Or what?”
The challenge in her voice snaps something low and ugly inside my chest instantly.
I stand so fast she gasps quietly, instinctively wrapping her legs tighter around my waist while I carry her back inside.
Straight toward the couch near the balcony doors.
