“What do you mean?” I said, becoming more concerned.

“He just gives me the creeps,” she said, shaking her head. “He came into my office uninvited, told me I was going to have a slow summer, and then told me to protect myself from you when he saw your name pop up on my phone.”

Every part of me grew rigid and protective that the bastard had dared to make her feel uncomfortable.

“He wasn’t invited into your office, and he showed up unannounced anyway?” I questioned, remaining as composed as I could after what she’d said.

“Yeah,” she said, drawing lazy circles on my chest. “He was doing that frequently until that last time when I threatened to break the lease. His dad quickly begged me to stay and promised he’d make sure Christian would leave me alone.”

I inhaled deeply, wanting nothing more but to break the man into tiny little pieces.

“What’s wrong?” she questioned.

“He and I share a past that he seems to hold grievances about, and I have no idea what the hell his problem is,” I answered. “And I swear to God, I will bury the man financially for attempting to make you uncomfortable.”

“Don’t,” she said with a smile. “I handled it.”

I pressed my lips together, feeling something deep inside me yearn to claim this woman again as my own and to prove that so long as I was in her life, she would never have to fear another predatory man.

“Then,” I pulled her closer to me, “if that’s taken care of, I’m not finished with you, cariño,” I said, my lips tugging at her chin.

“Getting possessive, are we?” I heard the humor in her voice as her hand glided up my back.

“Yes,” I answered truthfully.

“Fuck,” she said when I buried my face in her neck, guiding her to lie flat on her back.

My lips were moving down the center of her chest when her head fell back into the pillows, her legs fell open, and she used her hands on top of my head to push me down to where I was planning to devour her.

Her hips pushed up into my mouth while I gripped her and braced her open so that I could taste her delicious body. Her pink folds were red and swollen with her previous orgasm, tempting me to lick and pull each side into my mouth. I dipped my tongue aggressively into her once I saw the shimmering wetness increasing with her latest desire for me.

My God, this woman was allowing me to claim her, knowing that’s exactly what I was doing after hearing about that weasel I now planned to bury in business.

One could cross me, but the woman I found myself pining over? Fuck no. But those thoughts fled as soon as Catalina broke the silence of the room and filled it with her moans of pleasure.

CHAPTER FORTY

I woke tangled in white sheets, the scent of saltwater, expensive cologne, and Titus Hawk all over my skin.

Mm. I felt a shiver of warmth radiate through me, loving how that man worshipped my body and soul all night.

What a phenomenally mind-blowing way to end a five-year dry spell.

The memories of last night hit me slowly at first. His hands, his mouth, and the deep sound of his voice against my ear as he brought me into ecstasy again and again, keeping me there until my body had no energy left.

Then all at once, heat flooded through me so quickly I buried my face deeper into the pillow with a quiet groan.

I was sore in places that made it impossible not to remember every position and the firmness of his hands holding me in place as I came undone violently in his arms.

All. Night. Long. And once more, just as daylight was breaking over the ocean.

The yacht moved gently beneath me as sunlight leaked through the massive windows lining the suite.

I should’ve felt embarrassed that I’d let go so hard and so wild all night long. But instead, I felt dazed and blanketed in serenity. No man had ever looked at me the way Titus had last night. It was as if touching me had become something addictive for him. I would watch as every ounce of his control kept snapping after each orgasm we shared.

I’d love to say he couldn’t get enough, but we were both guilty in that department.

I swallowed hard, remembering how he’d stared down at me afterward, breathing heavily as he brushed my hair back from my face, as if he couldn’t quite believe I was real.
