THAT'S LITERALLY THE WHOLE REASON I'M DRAGGING MY ASS BACK TO TOWN
IVY
No it isn't. You have a big game. Just focus on winning and kicking his ass that way for now.
WHISKEY
But consider
What if I punch him just a little
Like barely a punch
More of an aggressive tap
PLAGUE

IVY

THANE
Absolutely not.
WHISKEY

I can't help but laugh at Whiskey's dramatics. Beside me, I feel Wraith's chest shake with silent laughter too, even though I know he's stressed the fuck out.
"He's not going to listen, is he?" Thane sighs.
"He will," I mutter, setting the phone down and settling back against Wraith.
He puts his plate on the coffee table and I feel him tugging his mask back up. The pillow wall comes down as he turns back to face me, his arms sliding around my waist, holding me close. Thane sprawls against my other side, draping a massive arm over my legs while his own legs dangle over the armrest, looking more relaxed than I've seen him since we left for Cedarbrook.
The rain continues its steady drumming against the windows. The trash TV drones on. And for just this moment, surrounded by these two alpha brothers who I know won't let Wade anywhere near me, I let myself believe everything might actually work out.
The game's in less than a week.
Wade will be there.
My past and my future colliding on ice while thousands watch.
Chapter 10
Valek
Even without the option of business class on a flight like this, an early morning flight should be peaceful.
It should be quiet.
Full of people minding their own business while I mind mine.
