“Damn, woman,” he says a couple of seconds later. “What a way to start the day.”

I smile, moving out of the way so he can rinse off, but I have to agree with him. What a way to start the day. We’re silent as we shower although he steals a few kisses and touches as he helps me wash. I can’t help but stare at him as he rinses the soap off his body, and much to my delight, his cock starts to get hard again under my gaze.

“If you keep looking at me like that, we’ll be heading back to bed when we get out of here, and there won’t be any spa or golf happening today.”

“Yes, please.”

Brody smirks as he turns off the water. “Up to you.”

I take the towel he hands me and start drying off. “We probably shouldn’t. But I want to.”

“Me too,” he says, leaning over and kissing me before wrapping his towel around his waist and stepping out of the shower. I follow him back into the bedroom, glancing at the clock on the nightstand to see if we have time for a quickie before we have to get ready. Before I can decide, my phone dings from the nightstand. I grab it, holding my breath and hoping that it isn’t my mother because I haven’t had coffee yet. Thankfully, it’s not, it’s Summer.

Summer: Checking in to see how things are going. The office is quiet without you.

I snicker. The office is always quiet.

Me: Going okay. Clara was strangely nice last night. IDK. It’s a long story. I’ll fill you in after I get back.

Summer: I can’t wait to hear what she did now. How’s your sexy boyfriend? Is he giving you all the orgasms you can ask for, or do I need to talk to him?

I choke on nothing. Leave it to Summer to ask that question. Again.

“You okay?” Brody’s voice comes from behind me.

“Fine. Fine,” I say between deep breaths. “Went down the wrong pipe.”

Brody smirks, his eyes darting to my phone. “Tell Summer I said hi,” he says finally.

Busted.

“Hey, Bri.” I greet my sister at the table she’s sitting at in the hotel café. “What are you doing over here? I thought we were meeting out front.” This isn’t like her. Usually, I’m the one who doesn’t want to socialize.

“I wasn’t ready to face them.” She tilts her chin toward the lobby behind me. I turn and see Clara holding court with her friends surrounding her, giggling about something.

“Are they really that bad?” I ask with a raise of my shoulder, turning back to Bri.

She takes another deep breath, and on an exhale, says, “My head is pounding. Anabelle woke up three times in the middle of the night. Devon got up with her so I could sleep, but it still woke me. Why did I think pina coladas after multiple glasses of wine was a good idea?” She pinches the bridge of her nose, wrinkling her forehead.

“At least there won’t be much chatting while we’re at the spa. Should give you plenty of time to recover. Did you take anything?”

“Yeah.” Bri gets to her feet. “Advil. And I drank what feels like a gallon of water. And had a Gatorade for good measure.” She tips her head toward the others. “We should probably go over there.”

I hook my arm through my sister’s, and we make our way to Clara and her friends. “Sisters,” Clara squeals as she hurries over and throws her arms around us. Bri and I exchange looks over the top of her head.

“You okay?” I ask Clara.

“Perfectly wonderful now that you’re here. Ready to go?” Her words are slightly slurred.

“Where’s Mom?” Bri asks.

“She isn’t coming,” Clara answers, pulling back and turning toward her friends. Weird.

“Oh.” My eyes widen at the revelation, and I wait for Clara to elaborate, but she doesn’t. Bri simply shrugs her shoulders.

“Limo is here,” one of the bridesmaids yells. We make our way outside. Once seated, I pull out my phone and text Brody.

Me: In the limo. Clara’s already tipsy. Surprisingly, my mother’s not here.
