Bodhi’s lips turned up in one corner. That’s exactly what you’re about to get.
Wait, had Bodhi projected his thoughts? Could he do that? The question died a swift death as Bodhi slammed his way inside. He was rough, bordering on violent. River wanted more. Bodhi bent him like a pretzel and captured River’s mouth. He sucked River’s tongue, doing something to Bodhi’s chest. The sexiness of the moment tugged emotions from him, making him feel stronger about the situation than he should. Sex was sex. Then he swore he felt Bodhi’s orgasm build. He couldn’t hang on. River wanted too much. He scraped his fingernails down Bodhi’s arms, drawing blood. The move was obviously the thing Bodhi needed. He didn’t exactly moan. It was more of a growl.
Bodhi had one hand braced on the headboard and the other gripped River’s chin, keeping him in place and forcing River to hold his stare. River open-mouth struggled for air while whines escaped him. Blood ran down Bodhi’s arm straight into River’s mouth.
“That’s right, firecracker. Taste the damage you’ve done.”
River automatically swallowed. The first violent spasm of ecstasy hit. A bright light exploded between them, replaced by nothingness. Life vanished.
Chapter Four
They stared at one another in silence. On Stellar’s chaise, they simply zoned out. Shock suffocated everything. Stellar’s emotions were all over the place. He was thrilled, scared, and confused. Why was Stygian stuck? Which one was his mate? Maybe they both were. He couldn’t accept that. It had to be Taurus. Otherwise, what the hell?
“It’s Stygian,” Taurus said, surprising Stellar’s ears with the sudden noise. He sounded broken. There was a hint of inflection in his voice that there was no denying. Stellar had finally crushed him.
Stygian snorted.
Stellar couldn’t believe he could tell the difference.
Taurus crossed his arms over his chest, as if comforting himself. “Of course you can distinguish between us. He’s your mate. You hear his thoughts.”
Stellar shook his head partly in response and half because he needed to shake off the shock. “No. You’re reading my thoughts. Only my mate would be able to do that.”
A put-upon sigh burst from Stellar. “He’s inside me. I can hear everything he does.”
“You’re an idiot.”
Taurus growled after Stygian’s voice popped from his mouth. “For the love of stars, please say this is temporary.”
All Stellar could do was watch the exchange Taurus had with himself. The show was mind-bending.
“Taurus.”
Taurus focused on him with one solid black eye and one yellow one.
Stellar held his stare. “I love you. This is a good thing. I’m happy it’s you.”
Taurus threw his hands up. “It’s not me. We’ve been together for centuries and we were never paired before Stygian hijacked my body.”
“To be fair, I’ve sifted through your memories.” Stygian focused on Stellar for a moment. “Nice cock game, by the way. Anyhow, I’ve looked through your time together, and Stellar has never bitten you hard enough to draw blood. It’s very likely you two have always been mates. You were too dumb to check.”
He had a point.
Stygian didn’t stop there. “I might just be psychoanalyzing here, but that’s probably why you’ve been over the top jealous and fiery mad at Stellar for some time now. He’s your mate and other people are touching him.”
“Thanks to you,” Taurus shot back. “We haven’t even begun to talk about your little manipulations and how you escaped. You know River is pure of heart. Only an evil bastard would use him as you have.”
“To be fair, I am an evil bastard.”
Stellar’s brain bounced around like a tennis ball, trying to keep up with the pair in one body.
Taurus scoffed. “That’s a whole other conversation. Right now, we have to work on this problem. We have to find a way to get you out.”
“I’m actually quite comfortable here, but thanks.”
Taurus tilted his head back and groaned.
“That was sexy.”
