Niko didn’t speak right away. He just stared at me, intently. He took a pull of his blunt, holding it in, then blew a cloud of smoke in my direction. His eyes were red meaning he’d been smoking for a while.
“What time is it?” His voice was calm but for some reason my nerves started tingling.
“Uh, I don’t know.” I quickly lied feeling like I was a kid who just got caught sneaking into the house.
“Oh yeah?” Niko said sitting up. His eyes were cold and void of any emotions I couldn’t gage his mood. If I was being honest I was kind of scared of Niko right now. “Yo’ phone in yo’ hand but you don’t know what time it is?”
I looked down at my phone, then back at Niko who’d made his way to the foot of the bed. He was sitting with his feet on the ground.
“Does the time really even matter?” I asked folding my hands across my chest.
“Don’t it. You wanted Zuriyah so bad earlier but you failed to bring yo’ ass home until the middle of the night. Since when do a mama with a new baby do ho’ shit like that?”
“Fuck you Niko.” I said instantly getting mad. “What you not finna do is try to make me out to be a bad mom. I take care of Zuriyah.”
“Normally but I guess shaking your ass and being a ho’ was more important than taking care of your family tonight.” Niko sneered at me evilly.
“Ain’t never been a ho’ my nigga and make this the last time you refer to me as such.”
“If it quacks like a duck.” Niko condescendingly replied.
“What you mad for Niko? So what I went out. Didn’t you tell me to get the fuck on?”
“Can’t never be mad about a broad that’s for the streets,” Niko chuckled as he leaned over the side of the bed tossing his blunt in the trashcan.
“Yup sure is. Now can you get the fuck out my room,” I snapped at Niko. He wasn’t
about to ruin my night with his petty bullshit.
I didn’t even understand what Niko’s issue was.
“Make me,” Niko challenged me.
“Okay Niko,” I dismissively said, waving him off. I refused to feed into him. If he wanted to stay in here he could I was about to go wash my ass then go to sleep. “Why don’t you go bother one of your other bitches. Matter of fact go call that bitch from earlier you was grinning in her face.” I said letting my emotions get the best of me, Niko was getting under my skin. The nigga was in his feelings thinking about me being with another nigga.
”Here, you go. I ain’t thinking about her.” He replied with a smug grin.
“Neither am I. I didn’t care then and I don’t care now. But you on the other hand in yo’ feelings cause what? You think I was out with another nigga. Be forreal.””
Without missing a beat Niko said. “But youain’t got no business entertaining any other nigga right now. You got a newborn.”
I gave Niko a blank expression because he couldn’t be serous. “So do you but I don’t see you turning no bitches down.”
”I’m not you,” He responded dryly, frowning at me.
“It don’t matter if you wanna hold me to that standard make sure you hold yo’ self too.” I was over this conversation with Niko. It wasn’t going anywhere, we weren't going to agree on anything. I would be damed if I couldn’t date but he could. He had to be sniffing some pure cocaine if he thought I was finna let that delusional shit fly.
“Did you see how earlier I didn’t cause a scene when I walked up seeing you grinning in another bitches face. You smacking her ass and shit like you came to that block party alone. Yeah, I need you to keep that same energy with me.”
“I wish the fuck I would see you in another niggas face.”
“So, I can’t talk to other niggas?”
“No,”
“Alright,” my sarcasm couldn’t be missed as I laughed at Niko. He was gone have to find out the hard way.
I shook my head and turned to head into the bathroom. Niko could keep himself entertained cause I was done talking to him. I felt myself being pulled back by the bottom of my skirts.
