“Yo’ ass do, too, if that’s the case.”

“Yanna, I’m being serious.”

“I am too. At the end of the day, y’all both did bullshit to each other.”

“Me messing with Francisco is nowhere as bad as him fucking Malika. At least Francisco only ate me out a few times. Mikael was fucking Malika.” Zaylee tried to justify her actions.

“I mean, it’s kind of worse. If Malika wasn’t our cousin, you wouldn’t have any association with her. Y’all don’t fuck with each other period. But Francisco, he fucked with Mikael… they broke bread together. They actually were cool. I would understand if the nigga tried me or something, but Malika is basically another bitch off the street you don’t know,” I explained my view to Zaylee.

“I guess.” Zaylee smacked her lips, getting an attitude.

“I know you not mad.” I giggled into the phone.

“I’m not. I’m just trying to figure out when you became the voice of reason. It must be Will rubbing off on you.”

“Yeah, no. Fuck that nigga.” I sighed, pulling onto my street. I frowned seeing a truck parked outside of my house.

I felt like I did good for myself, I had my own two bedroom ranch-style house, I owned my car, and had money in the bank. I didn’t have any snotty nose kids ruining my day.

“Fuck him, but you stay up under the nigga.” It was Zaylee’s turn to snicker.

I loved my sister, but she tended to make a big deal out of things, and for that reason, I had yet to tell her about Niko. The few times she called me when I was around Niko I let her think it was Will she heard. Since she’d never really met Will, she didn’t know his voice all that well. I wasn’t going to correct her either. I honestly didn’t see the point in talking about Niko because for one, from what I can tell, we were just fucking. He had a girlfriend, while it wasn’t normal for me to fuck with a nigga who had a bitch. In fact, I never had before, and if Niko hadn’t pulled the okie-doke on me, I would have paid him dust. Since I got to sample the dick before I found out about his girl, I sorta made an exception for him. But that didn’t mean I was about to go around talking about fucking with him. He wasn’t my nigga, so there was no point in me speaking on him. Would I talk about him? Eventually, yeah, once I figured out how our situation was going to play out of course.

“Mmmhmm,” I absentmindedly replied, parking in my driveway. I watched in my rearview mirror as Niko got out of his pickup truck that looked brand new. How many cars does this nigga have? “Let me call you right back.” I hung up on Zaylee before her nosey ass could ask any questions.

I got out of my car, closed the door, then locked it. I made my way to the end of my driveway where Niko was making his way up my driveway.

“You dropping me off the other day wasn’t an open invitation for you to pop up at my house,” I slickly said, eyeing Niko up and down.

He looked good perusal, a fitted crew neck shirt, distressed denim jeans, all white retro Jordan 12’s, a simple gold chain hung from his neck, and a diamond watch on his wrist to complete his look.

“Let me find out you can make a paper bag look good.” Niko ignored my hard stare and pulled me in for a hug. “You just got off.” He peered down at me while I got lost in his gaze.

“Yeah, I can’t wait to get in the house.” I sighed, hating the fact that I was comfortable in his arms.

“I feel that,” Niko replied. A weird look flashed across his face that had me wondering what was wrong. “I wanted to see you.”

“I see that,” I replied quickly. I wasn’t sure why, but I was starting to feel anxious. Something in Niko’s demeanor wasn’t sitting right with me.

“You tryna chill with me for a little while?”

“If you wanna chill, that’s fine, but fucking… no.” I had to put my foot down with Niko. I didn’t need him thinking this was that type of situation between us. As good as sex was between us, I wasn’t about to make myself available to be his personal cum rag.

“Nah, I ain’t on that. We can watch a movie or something. I just wanna kick it with you.”

“Come on,” I said, pulling him by the hand towards my front door. After opening it, I led us down the hallway to the living room. I pointed to my light grey sofa as I said, “You can sit there while I take a shower real quick. The remote is on the table.”

He nodded then walked over to the couch as I headed in the opposite direction to my master bedroom. I was a pink girl through and through. So, naturally, everything in my room was pink. I had a pink and gold canopy bed with a furry pink comforter, silk pink sheets, and pink dressers. I had even gotten pink carpets installed in my room. My bathroom was the same except it had a pink cloud theme.

Shutting my bedroom door, I stripped out of my work clothes making my way to my connected bathroom, I turned on my shower, and I waited a few minutes for the water to heat up before I got in. The hot water hitting my body felt amazing. In the midst of me washing up, Niko’s voice scared the shit out of me.

“You got too much fuckin’ pink in this house,” Niko said in a deep voice, echoing through my bathroom.

I stuck my head outside of my shower curtain, frowning at him. “Nigga, you scared the shit out of me.”

“My bad. A nigga got curious,” he said with a crooked smile.

“Curiosity killed the cat,” I said, rolling my eyes at him when I really wanted to smile back at Niko.
