“I haven’t been in many relationships, you know? And the handful of guys I have been involved with…well, I didn’t move in with them or vice versa. There just weren’t a lot of cuddling opportunities.”

“You didn’t sleep over? They didn’t at your place either?” I pressed for more information.

“I live with my parents and four younger sisters, remember? Not exactly conducive to sleepovers with boyfriends.” Hannah barked out a laugh. “Ha! Not to mention, I think my dad would literally birth a litter of puppies if one of us brought a guy around for a sleepover.”

“Oh, beautiful! You’ve been missing out on one of the best parts of adulting. I think from this night forward, we have to sleep together.” When she raised her eyebrows in skepticism, I cut off any negative thoughts with a bit of levity. “And don’t get any funny ideas either, woman,” I said with mock sternness, but at least it earned me a hoarse giggle.

Then Hannah offered, “Well, I think we should see how this experimental night goes first and take it from there.”

I had to counter with something, if nothing else, just to maintain the upper hand in the conversation. “Best two out of three, then. To make it fair. Think about it. One night either way could just be a fluke. This is all just statistics and probabilities I’m talking about here. Math mixed with science and all. You get that, right?” I looked at her like I was explaining something dire and complex and trying to hold in my laugh the entire time.

“Oh, absolutely. One hundred percent pure science.”

“Now back that sweet ass up. I need to feel you against me while I fall asleep. In the name of science.”

And my beauty did exactly as I told her.

“Are you getting a boner? Seriously? I’ve barely made contact with you. Plus, look at me. I look hideous.”

“Oh, baby, I’ve been able to do little else than look at you since you crashed into my world. But don’t worry, until you beg for it, my cock is staying safely in my pants.”

“What makes you think I’d even want you like that?”

Now she was taunting me. With the firmness of her round ass, she pushed back against my hard shaft while she asked.

Driven by instinct, I brought my hand to her hip to guide the motion, but Hannah stopped moving before we could pick up a rhythm. So many times this woman’s actions or comments screamed how inexperienced she was. It was almost cruel to both of us that we’d landed in this situation.

“I think I’ve heard rumors that you have a different woman in your bed every night of the week. I’m pretty sure I heard you with one or two of them last week when I first got here.”

This wasn’t the first time a comment like this had come up, so I knew my manwhore ways bothered her. Even though I didn’t know her then and I wasn’t involved with her, pretend or not.

“No. You most definitely did not,” I replied pointedly.

“It’s not like it matters. You don’t answer to me, Elijah.”

“It does matter,” I bit with barely bridled frustration. “I’m telling you I haven’t fucked anyone or anything other than my hand since you’ve been in this house.”

“What do you mean? A man with a double standard? I don’t understand.” She forced a chuckle out alongside the stiff shake of her head, and it was the most awkward sound and jerky head gesture combination I’d ever seen executed.

“That should be a damn felony right there,” I commented, letting my chin waltz from side to side. Her movements were typically so graceful and enthralling to experience that having to watch her perform something so unnatural as that last combo she tried to pull off…well, it was downright painful.

“A felony?” Hannah questioned. “Like murder?” The sexy little smirk that spread across her lips when she thought she was being clever made me want to sink my teeth into her. Somewhere…anywhere…everywhere.

I pointed at her and said with excitement, “Exactly! You’re killing me, girl.”

“Really? What’s my weapon of choice?” She rolled her beautiful blue eyes heavenward and mumbled beneath her breath, “I seriously can’t wait to hear this.”

“Watch it now. Don’t misunderstand my playfulness for tolerance. I know you have better manners than that. Rudeness is right up there with dishonesty.”

“Were your parents very strict when you were a boy?”

“No, they were dead. For the most part, anyway.”

Hannah turned toward the middle of the bed to face me. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t know. I shouldn’t have…”

“Don’t stress about it. I was young. I don’t have a lot of memories of either one of them. The ones I do have aren’t pleasant, so don’t feel bad.”

“Why? What happened? Oh, you know what? I’m being so forward and rude. Forgive me, please. I think lying in this intimate position is giving me a false sense of closeness, and I’m completely forgetting my place. I hope you can forgive me.”
