His voice comes out rough.

Almost strained.

A smile tugs at the corner of my mouth.

The anticipation is almost unbearable.

I feel stretched impossibly tight, like a bowstring pulled to its limit.

Every nerve in my body seems to wake at once.

Waiting.

Wanting.
