“If you’re so worried about people finding out about us,” he whispered against my temple, “then stop fighting me, or I’ll ask him to come inside with coffee for both of us.”
My heart careened as I glanced at him. Oh God, he was serious. The recklessness shined bright in his eyes. “Please don’t,” I mouthed.
“Then don’t make a noise and be a good girl. Don’t fight me for the rest of the morning, and I won’t let him find out that I’m in here fucking your brains out.” His mouth lingered on the outer shell of my ear before he bit down.
I slapped a hand over my mouth to diffuse the yelp.
“Fuck, you feel good,” Xander murmured, even as I bit my bottom lip hard enough to taste blood.
Speaking louder for Jasper’s benefit, I said, “I-I’m fine. Thank you for checking.” My heart rate only dropped after I heard his retreating footsteps. I was still freaked out knowing that Jasper was awake and somewhere in this house, oblivious to the depravity these walls were witnessing.
He remained on his side and fucked me with my back flush against his chest, my face turned toward him. A small voice shamed me for the heat spreading in my veins. It urged me to break free from his hold, but I was already in too deep. He had exploited my weakness and taken me while I was vulnerable. I hadn’t been able to fight his advances before he set my body on fire. I was teetering on the edge of a summit, and it was too late to resist.
I shut my eyes, turned off my mind, and let it happen.
He knew what I was doing, that I was fighting my own mind. “If you stop fighting me at every chance, you might actually let yourself enjoy this,” he said, refusing to let me hide.
He began to rub my clit, gently at first, speeding up when my breath hitched. His movements grew more intentional with the sounds I made.
My back arched when he pressed a spot that made me see white, and I could no longer hold back. His cock twitched inside me at the same time his lips came swooping down to meet mine. We came together, swallowing each other’s groans.
Xander took me two more times, and after the third time, his eyelids grew heavy. When I was sure he was asleep, I discreetly grabbed my purse and slipped into the bathroom.
Last night, I took a birth control pill in the evening. However, I had no idea where Xander might drag me tonight or tomorrow night. I couldn’t risk not being able to sneak away and needed to sync the pill to my body so I could take it every morning after waking up.
My eyes flicked to my reflection. My blonde hair was lank and matted from our recent trysts, and my lips looked bruised. I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror. She wasn’t the coiffed and polished version of myself I was used to presenting to the world or the sickly person I had become under Henry’s hold. I was someone else entirely.
I reached for my birth control pills and popped one into my mouth.
“What did you just take?”
I shrieked and mentally cursed myself for not keeping an eye on the door. I assumed Xander had fallen asleep. I should’ve known better. His motto was, he goes where I go.
Xander was frowning, his eyes showing a hint of the anger I’d come to expect from him. He stood at the doorway, his beautifully carved body on full display, though his face twisted in anger.
“What. Was. That?” he snapped when I hadn’t responded.
My mind raced as I tried to come up with a believable lie, but I didn’t need to. Xander knew what it was.
“Spit it out, Jordan,” he said calmly like it was a suggestion rather than an order, though his eyes flashed predatorily.
I kept my mouth firmly shut and shook my head. I didn’t have the chance to grab the water bottle out of my purse before he came barging in. The pill was rolling around my tongue, refusing to go down dry.
Xander stormed inside the bathroom before I could run. He gripped my cheeks and squeezed so forcefully that I had no choice but to open my mouth. He didn’t hesitate to fish inside in search of the pill.
Instinctively, I tried to bite down on his finger but bit the inside of my cheek instead. He only pressed my cheeks harder and didn’t stop until he found what he sought. His eyes landed on the rest of the packet that was poking out of my purse.
“No, Xander, don’t—” I tried to lunge for the packet, but he was faster.
He grabbed my purse and headed to the bathroom.
I followed, barely keeping up with his long strides. “Xander, just stop and think about what you’re doing.”
I watched in disbelief as he popped each pill into the toilet, flushing them after he finished. With it, he had robbed me of the last bit of freedom I had retained from him.
He was shaking with anger. In his enraged mode, he searched my purse in case there were more pills.
Anger whirled inside me, too, ready to burst open. “Stop it, Xander!” I screamed. “You’re twenty-two and don’t understand that a baby isn’t a game.”
