“The hot VP? Damn, girl, that’s a rich imagination you’ve got.” Brittany giggled loudly. “Did you hear that? Mommy here says she’s with the sexy VP.”

More people turned around and laughed. I glanced about, searching for a member of the club, but couldn’t see anyone.

“I am,” I insisted, “and he won’t like you talking to me this way.”

Courtney tittered. “Take the trash out. She’s delusional.” Someone grabbed the wheelchair handles and began pushing me away.

“Dump her outside the clubhouse,” Brittney ordered.

“Hey, stop!” I cried, and another woman turned around.

“Myka!” she exclaimed and shoved forward. I recognised her from Moon Showers. She was the owner, Natalie.

“These people are trying to throw me out!” I explained, panicked, as Natalie rushed over. I was near tears and battling not to let them spill.

“What are you doing?” Natalie demanded. “Myka’s with the club.”

Courtney’s eyes narrowed on me. She looked me over from top to toe. “Myka’s an unusual name. Only one person is called that in town, and she’s Beauregard scum. You’re her?”

Loud chuckles rang out as I hung my head. Natalie was pushed aside and fell with a cry, and even more laughter rang out.

“Throw them both out. Trash, the pair of them. Don’t think we’re unaware of what happened to Jess. You sabotaged her, you slut!” Courtney snapped, slapping Natalie across the face. One of the men grabbed the wheelchair and shoved hard, but it tipped, and I fell to the floor. A cry of pain escaped me as my head hit the floor.

Courtney moved forward and stamped on my good hand, making me whimper in pain again. Natalie and I glanced at each other as she tried getting up, whilst a man forced her back down.

“You can blow me while you’re down there,” he chortled.

“What the fuck’s happening?” an icy voice demanded. I looked up, seeing a tall guy shoving his way through. He took in the scene before staring at me.

“This bitch is trying to claim she’s with the VP. She’s trash. A Beauregard’s whore doesn’t belong here. We’re taking the rubbish out.” Courtney smirked.

Inglorious turned to Razor. “Lock this clubhouse down now. Get Calamity and Falcon.”

“Oh, you’re gonna die.” Brittany laughed.

The guy holding Natalie chuckled and dragged her to her knees by her hair. Natalie cried out in pain.

“This one is with her, wants to run her mouth, so we thought we’d give her something to fill it with. She’s giving blowjobs as compensation,” he stated with a cruel smirk.

Appearing from nowhere, Fragment’s fist smashed him in the face and knocked him back. The room fell silent. The music cut off as Fragment roared.

Inglorious couched next to me and shoved Courtney violently back.

“Okay?” Fragment asked, holding a hand out to Natalie.

She curled up away from him, sobbing. Fragment made a guttural noise as Calamity and Falcon forced their way through the crowd.

“What the fuck?” Falcon exclaimed on seeing me. He appeared shocked and didn’t move for a few seconds, which gave Brittney a chance to explain. His eyes took in Courtney, me cradling my injured hand, and he scowled.

“She’s Beauregard scum,” Brittney said.

“Who stamped on her hand?” Falcon ground out.

“That one,” Inglorious pointed at Courtney, and Falcon moved quickly and shoved Courtney back hard, knocking her down.

Brittney didn’t stop her mouth in time, and the words flowed out of her. “We’re going to teach her a lesson. Take the trash out! People like her don’t belong with decent folk. Myka can return to the gutter she came from. Damn cheek of her contaminating our air. And that cunt, she set Jess up, and now the town won’t shop at Jess’s because of her bull. Natalie has to pay for her lies and slander.”

Falcon dropped to his knees even as I flinched away from him and everyone else. I reached out and grasped Natalie’s hand, and I pushed myself up. We huddled together as sneers turned to concern and then fear. Those watching realised that something was wrong. Especially when Rage began blocking the exits. Murderous vibes were emanating from Calamity and guests were starting to pick them up. Someone had insulted a woman belonging to his club.
