“Yeah, and this time we’ve got the culprit too,” I replied.

Cates looked at Wolf, confused.

“Not him. Wolf has the footage. Everything was caught on camera; just don’t know who this is, Lawson or Dawson. But we know who did the killing. Wolf, send me the evidence.”

My phone beeped, and I passed it forward to Cates. She and Farell watched grim-faced.

“Christ, that’s Rawson Beauregard,” Farell exclaimed.

“I can’t tell if it’s Lawson or Dawson,” Cates admitted. She crouched down and studied the bruises, a swollen mess of a face.

“We’re gonna need Myka,” Farell muttered.

“Not happening,” Falcon stated implacably.

“She’s his—”

“Victim. Myka’s not identifying this body,” Falcon snarled and folded his arms across his chest.

“Cates, get Wanda-Faye. That cunt needs to understand what monsters she raised. This is on her, not Myka. I’m with Falcon, you’re not taking Myka, or telling her shit, not until you have an ID.”

Cates held my gaze and then nodded. “You need to give statements and leave. I’ll call you when I’ve got an identification.”

“Find Rawson. He’s an animal. Bad enough he killed his cousin, but now his brother. And like that? Man’s insane. Straight up, if Rawson comes on my land, I’m shooting his ass on sight, and so will my brothers.”

“Go home, just stop at the gates first and give my deputies a statement,” Cates replied without acknowledging what I’d said. I meant it, and Cates knew that.

Myka

Harleys roared into the parking lot, with Rage MC and their women on the back of the bikes.

“I thought they had children?” I asked Artemis.

“This isn’t all the National Chapter. That’s too much effort with the Hellions. Half have stayed behind and will be watching over their kids. That’s Drake and his old lady, Phoenix. She prefers Phoe. We’ve got Fish and Marsha, Rock and Carly, and Jett and Sin. Those there are Mac and Casey, Ezra and Dana, Lindsey and Lowrider, and Blaze and Ali-kat. And that honey is my father-in-law, Apache and Silvie, his old lady.” Artemis pointed the couples out as they dismounted.

I blanched at Falcon’s grandfather. “I’ll never keep everyone straight.”

“They’ve got cuts on, don’t worry.”

More Harleys arrived, and Artemis grinned. “That’s a beautiful sight. That’s the Unwanted Bastards MC. They were decimated in the war with the Venomous Fangs. That’s Inglorious and Nanci, Vortex and Amy, Chill, Razor, Doc, Moon, King, and Lasher and Daisy-Duke.”

“Okay. And they’re friendly?”

“Yes. Overly so; the single members want to settle down. Tell them you’re Falcon’s.”

“Won’t Falcon be mad?”

“Fuck no, I know my son; he’ll be overjoyed.”

“Nova! Give me some sugar!” an Unwanted Bastard yelled with a wicked grin. An audible growl came from behind me, and I tried to turn. Nova laughed and ran over, and the Unwanted Bastard grabbed and swung her around in the air before planting a smacker on her.

“I’m gonna do what the cancer didn’t and kill you, Razor!” Ace barked, making me jump as Razor chuckled.

“You and whose army, Ace?”

“I’ll scalp you!” Ace seethed, but it lacked heat.

“Sure. Go ahead. The chemo did that once already.” Razor smirked.
