“Enjoy that?” Luca asked with a smile, and I snarled. Luca flinched back, and my message was received.
“You can quit that shit,” Myka ordered, and I glanced down in surprise. Riding my hog had given her balls!
Happily, I grinned and began pushing her chair away.
“Sorry, Luca, he’s acting like an ass,” Myka continued, and I growled.
“Don’t apologise for me!”
“Then stop being an idiot!”
Luca shook his head and walked ahead while we argued over opening the door. I passed him and offered Luca a cold stare. Myka was off-limits.
Luca gave a small nod, understanding my silent threat.
Calamity, Steel, and Glitch looked toward us as we came in. Cates stood with them.
“What the fuck has happened now?” I demanded.
“Wanda-Faye has reported Rawson, Dawson, and Lawson missing,” Cates answered.
“Not Jed?” Myka asked.
“No, that little shit has wandered home. He left town with some friends. Claims he knows nothing about where his dad and uncles are,” Cates replied.
“Do you believe him?” I folded my arms.
“No. I suspect they have holed up somewhere, and this is another of their games.” Cates didn’t look too amused. Couldn’t blame her; the Beauregards were pissing me off too. “All three are evading arrest. The DNA results have come back. All three of their DNA was on Myka’s body. I sent deputies up there today, and they returned empty-handed. An hour later, Wanda-Faye walks in and makes three missing person reports.”
“What are they trying to gain?” Calamity asked.
“Me,” Myka spoke up. “They aim to make me rescind the statement. Falcon, I won’t do that. Elianna, I won’t go back!”
“Hey,” I said, squeezing Myka’s shoulder. “Nobody’s pressuring you to.”
“Myka, I’m only here to inform you that your husband has been declared missing.”
“Soon-to-be ex-husband. What do you think their play is?” I asked.
“I don’t know. It’s hard to tell with them. Beauregards might not have educations, but they are cunning and sneaky. We’ll have to wait them out. I think they’re planning to go after Jayes,” Cates replied.
Both Myka and I stiffened.
“Well, I’d die before they get their hands on my boy,” Myka hissed, turning all mama lion.
“It won’t come to that,” I promised, and Cates glanced at me. Myka reached up and grasped my hand, and approval flashed in her eyes.
“Stay smart and alert. I’ll keep you updated,” Cates said and took her leave.
Rosie
Afternoon off, round two. Jess’s spiteful gossiping hadn’t ceased, and we planned to make another point. People like Jess never learned. Natalie was about to get a further huge sale. This time we were buying Christmas presents for Rage MC. Considering how many there were of them, I hoped Natalie had the stock in.
We marched past the Bath and Body Shop and paused, glancing in through her window. All of us sneered and then crossed the road towards Moon Showers.
“Why aren’t we shopping there?” Myka asked. Demi was pushing her in the wheelchair, and it had been a struggle to get her out. One week had passed since Myka had been at the clubhouse, and while her bruises had faded a lot, some were still present. Myka hesitated to go out for several reasons—namely the bruising, gossip, running into the Beauregards, and sheer nerves.
“One, it’s not open because of the fire and her stock got ruined. And two, that bitch believes we’re criminals and whores,” I answered, and Myka’s eyes widened in shock.
